4、tigers. Geography It is the only country that occupies territory on both the mainland and insular regions of Southeast Asia. Religion The different types of religion in Malaysia reflect the variety of races living there: Islam is practiced predominantly by the Malays. Most of the Chinese believe in Buddhism and Taoism, but others are Christians. Hindui

9、sm is mostly practiced by the regions Indian population. Many indigenous people have converted to Christianity, but others still practice animism (万物有灵论万物有灵论 ). The Federation of Malaya became independent country on 31 August, 1957. On 16 September, 1963, the Federation was enlarged by the accession

10、 of the states of Singapore, Sabah (formerly British North Borneo) and Sarawak. The name “Malaysia” was adopted from that date. However, Singapore left the Federation on 9 August, 1965. Resources and economy Malaysia boasts abundant natural resources with the output and export of rubber, palm oil an

11、d pepper ranking in the forefront globally. Economy Malaysia has experienced a sustained high-speed economic development since 1987, with the annual growth rate of national economy being maintained at above 8%, successively. The electrical and electronics industry is Malaysias leading industrial sec

12、tor. The service sector is also a major contributor to the growth of the Malaysian economy. Economy The Malaysian government encourages the development of domestic raw material-based processing industries, while focusing on the electronics, automobile assemblage, iron and steel, petrochemical and te
