18、n English and Chinese responses to compliments?Hearing compliments, Chinese people would feel happy but a little shy, and refuse the compliments by saying things like “哪里哪里！不好不好！努力得还不够！还可以做得更好！这是我应该做的”， or return the compliments to the first speaker by saying things like “你家孩子表现得更好；你更棒！还要向你学习呀”etc。

19、While for English people, after hearing compliments, they would feel quite proud and happily accept the compliments with various positive ways, in which thanking the first speaker is the most common response. 4. Are “please” in English and “请” in Chinese used in the same way in communication? If the
