1、Principles for English Teaching in Middle SchoolsThesis: There are many principles for English teaching in middle schools. In this article, we will discuss four principles in details to help your teaching.Key words: English teaching in middle schools, teaching principles.IntroductionWith the continu

2、al reform of language teaching methods,some teaching principles are changed all the time. But here, I want to discuss four static principles which are required to follow through the whole teaching and learning process with all my readers. They are teaching English in English, Thinking English in Eng

3、lish,Using Chinese properly in English teaching and Rciting followed by other practices.Teaching English in EnglishEnglish teaching is a key part of the middle school education. In an English class, teaching in English is a matter of course. Teaching in English not only includes teaching the lesson

4、in English, but also includes an English teaching form. Nowadays, a common weak point of our English teaching is the separation of the lessons content and the teaching form. Teachers are not trying to teach in English but in Chinese. There are many reasons. As we all know,language is used for commun

5、ication. The Communicated English means that teachers instruct the students and explain questions basically in English, and the students are also required to use English in class. Contemporarily, however, the students in the middle school cant speak very well,neither can they understand why they sho

6、uld use different tones in different time or situation; their vocabulary and expressive ability are limited too. These limitations made it difficult to realize teaching in English in the classes. This produces a vicious circle. It affects the learning interest and the sense of the language of the st

7、udents. At the same time, its not good for a teacher to improve his own ability. But how to change it? It focuses on the practical use of English teaching methods.1. Try to use the words that the students have learned before;2. Combine learning with review;3. Renew the words we are using to follow t

8、he teaching steps;4. Make special plans for English teaching.Teaching in English is a developing process from simplicity to complication, for example, when you want the students to be quiet, at first, you can say: Be quiet. After learning of the word“stop, you can say: Stop talking. As the students

9、known the word“enough, it can be changed into“ Thats enough talking now.Using English to teach English should be held on to the last. There is one more point,we put emphasis on the importance of teaching in English, this does not mean that we can not use Chinese at all. We can use a little Chinese t

10、o confirm we can be understood by the students. Thinking English in EnglishIt means when you are speaking in English, you think about something in English not in your native language. But this is not easy for a beginner. At first, you need a transfer of the two languages in your mind. This does harm

11、 to your English learning. We are from different countries, we have different ideas, customs and behaviour etc. As a middle school student, we know more about Chinese but little about English. You want to learn English better, want to think in English, first, you have to know the differences between

12、 the two kinds of countries,especially the differences of culture. To know another culture is a rather difficult job. To think or behave appropriately in another culture is a more demanding task. It is even claimed that a satisfactory fulfilment of this task will take about 20 years of time. Keeping

13、 this in mind and also realizing the importance, we will be given three objectives for us to follow:1. To get the students familiar with cultural differences;2. To help the students transcend their own culture and see things as the members of the target culture will;3. To emphasis the inseparability

14、 of understanding language and understanding culture through various classroom practices.To know the differences between the two different culture is the key point of using English to think, meanwhile, pay attention to your mother tongue.In a word, language expresses cultural reality. Using Chinese

15、properly in English teachingEnglish is different from Chinese, when we teach it, we should try to help the students to form a new language using habit. But ,as languages of human beings, they have the same part when you are learning or using them. From the above, it can be inferred that the Chinese

16、language plays an inseparable role in English learning and teaching, people cant afford to imagine it. Hence ,the role of Chinese in teachers English teaching is worth careful examination.1. Think over the characteristics between Chinese and English when doing preparation work for teaching. The teac

17、her should see the difference first, then he can give a contrastive teaching.2. About the learning methods, students used to using their first language to formulate second language learning hypothesis. This causes a lot of learning and teaching problems to happen. We shoud try to get rid of such hab

18、it, and put emphasis on handling the contrast between the two languages. Let it become a second nature.3. When using the mother tongue, you should combine accuracy with appropriateness.4. Treating translation with a scientific way. Middle school students need to do some translating practices. But pr

19、actising too much will also bring bad effects to the teaching English in English and thinking in English principles.Reciting followed by other practicesIn fact, reciting followed by other practices is an effective teaching method. Reciting is an useful way to communication. Here we must mention the

20、part of reading aloud. Reading aloud helps the students to get a correct pronunciation and intonation and to develop the combination of vocabularies pronunciation,spelling and meaning. Furhtermore it also helps the students to find out the articles internal feelings and appreciate the beauty of the

21、language. After you can recite it, you can use the sentence patterns in the text more freely when you communicate with others. If we asked the students to write an article, they would probably be unable to and feel discouraged. With the help of what they have recited, the situation will surely be ch

22、anged.Conclusion Learning English needs practice. The 45 minutes in class is very precious and should practise as much as possible. To exert the limited time, teachers are required to adopt some effective teaching principles. The four points above are written to be followed. If we could use it flexi

27、某一段旅程中，有人会犹豫彷徨，因为我们自己也会犹豫彷徨。16. 我们要理解他人，因为我们需要他人的理解。17. 生命之谜就是：我们在什么地方下车？坐在身旁的伴侣在什么地方下车？我们的朋友在什么地方下车？我们无从知晓 18. 我时常这样想：到我该下车的时候，我会留恋吗？我想我还是会的。和我的朋友分离，我会痛苦。让我的孩子孤独地前行，我会悲伤。 我执著地希望在我们大家都要到达的那个终点站，我们还会相聚 19. 我的孩子们上车时没有什么行李，如果我能在他们的行囊中留下美好的回忆，我会感到幸福。20. 我下车后，和我同行的旅客都还能记得我，想念我，我将感到快慰。21. 献给你, 我生命列车上的同行者,

Now and then things will happen accidently, some of which are to be unexpected excitement，while some heart-breaking sorrow

We take it for granted that the first two persons, our parents, whom we are encountered with, will accompany us all the way.4. Sadly，things do not go on as we thought.Our parents will get off the train at a certain station，leav

30、ing us, bereft and helpless.Their love and emotion to us and their irreplaceable company can be found in nowhere.5. However，there will be somebody else who will get on the train. Some of them will have special meaning to us.6. Some of them may be our siblings , relatives and friends, and we will als

31、o expereince the imperishable love.7. Some of our travelling companions are quite light-hearted on the way.8. While some may bear immense sorrow.Still some ,back and forth, are ready to hold out their hands for others who need help.9. Some people alight off the train, yet they are still kept in the

32、mind of the other passengers for long;some, to the opposite, leave their seats without being noticed.10. Sometimes, the one,who is dear to your heart, has huddled into another carriage. Nothing but one you can do is just to keep on going, far away from him.11. Of course, during the journey, you may

33、stagger to another carriage to look for him.12. Its a pity that you will never seat yourself beside him because the seat has been engaged by others. 13. Never mind. The journey is full of challenges,dreams, hopes and departures- but only one thing is that you cant turn back. So, have a good journey

34、with heart and soul.14. Show your good-will to all the passengers you are encountered with, and find the merits of theirs.15. Remeber that someone may oscillate just as we do in the journey.16. We should understand others just as we need others understanding.17. The enigma of life is：Where shall we

35、get off the train of life?And how about the companions beside us?And our friends?We dont know.18. Sometimes I think：When my time comes to get off the train，shall I miss it？I think I will.It is a suffering when I part with my friends.I will be sorry for leaving my kids going alone.I firmly hold that

36、when we get to the terminal，we will have another reunion.19. When my kids get on the train of life, they have only little luggage in their travelling bags. However,if I can leave the beautiful memory in them,I will be happy. 20. After getting off the train of life, I will be content if my fellow passengers will remember me and miss me.21.
