1、 how to be a good english teacherI have been an English teacher in middle schoolsfor several years, and I know that it is not easy tobe a good teacher, because a good teacher is requiredto have many qualities as follows.Firstly, a good teacher must have a good personalquality such as being patient t

2、o tolerate the studentswho have made some mistakes, showing enthusiasm inclass, being humorous, having a quick response to theimmediate emergency, being open-minded, etc. Probably,the teachers with these personal qualities will attractstudents and be liked by them.Secondly, a good teacher should hav

3、e the teachingfaculty. In order to have this capability, a teachershould acquire enough knowledge. On the one hand, heshould acquire the wide knowledge of philosophy,psychology, education (how to teach), culture, history,geography, etc. On the other hand, he must master muchdeeper theories in his re

4、search field. Apart from thisknowledge, an English teacher should possess thenecessary skills of listening, speaking, reading,writing and translating, among which speaking is of paramount importance. In addition, a good Englishteacher may have the means to activate his class andgive students the opp

5、ortunities to practice English.Only in this way students can use English and improvetheir communicative competence.Thirdly, a good teacher should have the awarenessof learning. We are in an information age, and theknowledge is changing quickly. If a teacher doesntcharge himself from time to time, hi

6、s theory may be outof date, and he may not keep the pace with developmentof our society. At present, a teacher is required notonly to know how to teach, but also to do research inhis field. So, he should update his theory and know thenewest one in the world.Finally, a good teacher should have moral

7、quality,that is to say, a good teacher should be a model andset a good example to his students and others. A goodteacher will be a good citizen, for example, complyingwith the laws of our country and the rules of the school,offering seats on the bus, helping others, and so on.For a good teacher the

8、most important moral is to lovestudents and to love the course of teaching. As long as he has the innate love for his profession, he mayhas enormous zest for his students, and become anexcellent teacher.With reference to the above aspects, manifestly,I am not a good teacher. But fortunately, I am tr
