5、ome or not，或I asked whether or not he would come我问他来还是不来。(5)Whether it is true，I cant say这件事是否真实，我不能说。五、与不定式构成起名词作用的短语，用作主语，表语，宾语时，只用whether，不用if. 例如：I dont know whether to see her我不知道是不是去看她。六、当if引导从句，有可能与条件状语相混而产生此义时，要用whether例如：Let me know if you can come释义有：第一，把know看作不及物动词，由if引导条件状语从句，意为“如果你能来，请通

6、知我”；第二，把know当作及物动词，由if引导宾语从句，意为“告诉我你是否能来”。所以，要表达后者意义，必须把if换为whether。Ill tell you whether he is busy.
