Every spring in Wyoming, vegetation first appears at lower altitudes before progressing up the mountainside. Migrating mule deer follow and se

But as a changing climate leads to more frequent and more severe droughts, the greenery is not as abundant as it used to be.Ellen Aikens, a researcher from the University of Wyoming, tracked mule deer as they surfed the green wave. Although the deer were able to keep up with the faster green wave, the nutritional value was lower, leaving the animals less prepared for the challenges of the year ahead.Meanwhile in Europe, the population

But when researchers looked at the data more closely, they found an increase in the wintering population of swans in Germany. It turns out that since the 1970s, the swans wintering habitat has shifted an average of 13 kilometer

15、hey use between 50% and 80%.The anti-straw sentiment has crossed borders into the UK, where straws have been included in a government plan to ban all plastic waste by 2042.Last year large pub chain Wetherspoons announced that it would replace plastic straws with paper alternatives across 900 outlets
16、. After the announcement, many smaller chains and pubs across the country followed suit. According to Wetherspoons CEO John Hutson, the move will save 70 million plastic straws a year and the reaction from patrons has been “very positive”.Offering alternatives or making plastic straws optional, rath
17、er than banning them completely, is a common trait among these campaigns.
