Robert Burns only lived to the age of 37, but he continues to have an influence
16、 on writers today. Anna Akhmatovapoet, translator, and literary criticwas born in the Ukraine, but spent much of her life in Russia. Much of her writing was political, and many of her poems, including the well-known Requiem, reflected the difficulties that Russians faced during the time of Joseph St
17、alin and World War II. Family life was also difficult for Akhmatova, who married three times, and whose one child was raised by grandparents. Thats what Bash was writing in the early part of his career. Now, we dont know a lot about Bashs early life,
23、 but we do know he studied poetry with a famous poet in Kyoto. We also know that Chinese poetry and the principles of Taoism had their influence on Bash.
