13、where you go in the world,there are a few universal manners all cultures appreciate and respect.Heres my list for the 10 most important:1.Laugh-It may not sound like a manner,but having a sense of humour is the most important part of being respected by any culture.Someone who can laugh at themselves

14、 is loved everywhere youll go.2.Respect-Have respect for the cultures you are in.Be curious about how the people live,and dont be judge mental.Respect everyone for their unique contributions.3.Please and Thank You-This is a big one.A simple please and thank you,in any language,opens doors and shows

15、your respect.Use these two words often,and your travels will go well.4.Hello and Goodbye-It may not sound like a big deal,but acknowledging people with a hello and a goodbye gets conversations going.And conversations lead to new friends.5.Friends first,Money Later-Become friends with whoever youre d

16、oing business with.Even if youre just buying bread or sitting down to a meal.Being friendly and actively looking for friendship establishes yourself as a good person.6.Think about Others First-This does not have to be difficult.Little things,like not spitting in public help.Think about how you would

17、 feel if someone wants to do what youre about to do in your home.7.Share-Share your experiences!Theres nothing better than sharing a story with someone and seeing their face light up.8.Keep in Touch-You can make that mans week by sending him a postcard when you get back home.Keeping in touch is one

18、of the most difficult things to do,but people truly appreciate the thought.9.Ask Before You Take-It amazes me the way people act with their cameras.Imagine if you were walking down the street in your town and someone wanted to take a picture of your child.Without asking!Please,stop taking photos wit

19、hout asking first!10.Be Nice-Dont forget the golden rule.Treat others as you would like to be treated.This one will take you far.What is taboo?Taboo:from the Polynesian word tabu;any act,condition or type of physical contact that,if undertaken or manifested,could result in adverse consequences for t

20、he well being of the given tribe or community.Traditional examples would include an uninitiated persons contact with sacred places,persons or objects,or unacknowledged incest or adultery.In contemporary Asian cultures,for example,it is generally considered taboo to touch the head of one who is older than oneself.In the West,many acts which are now considered more or less as bad form were probably at one time regarded as taboo in the stricter sense of the term.
