2、 a census(调查) about mountain gorillas(大猩猩). These gorillas are a main attraction to tourists from all over the world; this put them severely under threat of poaching(偷猎) and being put into the zoo. She went there out of curiosity, but what she saw strengthened her determination to devote her whole l

3、ife to fighting for those beautiful creatures. She witnessed a scene, a scene taking us to a place we never imaged weve ever been, where in the very depth of the African rainforest, surrounded by trees, flowers and butterflies, the mother gorillas cuddled(拥抱) their babies.Yes, thats a memorable scen

4、e in one of my favorite movies, called Gorillas in the Mist, based on a true story of Mrs. Dian Fossey, who spent most of bet lifetime in Rwanda to protect the eco-environment there until the very end of her life. To me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a timeless(

5、永恒的) reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our eco-environment.Today, we live in a world of prosperity but still threatened by so many new problems. On the one hand, tourism, as one of the most promising industries in the 21st century, provides people with the great

6、 opportunity to see everything there is to see and to go any place there is to go. It has become a lifestyle for some people, and has turned out to be the driving force in GDP growth. It has the magic to turn a backward town into a wonderland of prosperity. But on the other hand, many problems can o

7、ccur-natural scenes arent natural anymore. Deforestation to heat lodges is devastating Nepal. Oil spills from tourist boats are polluting Antarctica. Tribal people are forsaking their native music and dress to listen to U2 on Walkman and wear Nike and Reeboks.All these appalling(令人震惊的) facts have br

8、ought us to the realization that we can no longer stand by and do nothing, because the very thought of it has been eroding(侵蚀) our resources. Encouragingly, the explosive growth of global travel has put tourism again in the spotlight, which is why the United Nations has made 2002 the year of ecotour

9、ism, for the first time to bring to the worlds attention the benefits of tourism, but also its capacity to destroy our eco-environment.Now every year, many local ecoenvironmental protection organizations an: receiving donations-big notes, small notes or even coins-from housewives, plumbers(水管工人), am

10、bulance drivers, salesmen, teachers, children and invalids(残疾人), Some of them can not afford to send the money but they do. These are the ones who drive the cabs, who nurse in hospitals, who are suffering from ecological damage in their neighborhood. Why? Because they care, because they still want t

17、 learn English has increased at a high speed. But for myself， I learn English not only because of its importance and its usefulness， but also because of my love for it. When I learn English， I can feel a different way of thinking which gives me more room to touch the world. When I read English novel

18、s， I can feel the pleasure from the book which is different from reading the translation. When I speak English， I can feel the confident from my words. When I write English， I can see the beauty which is not the same as our Chinese. I love English， it gives me a colorful dream. I hope I can travel a

19、round the world one day. With my good English， I can make friends with many people from different countries. I can see many places of GRE at intrests. I dream that I can go to London， because it is the birth place of English. I also want to use my good English to introduce our GRE at places to the E

20、nglish spoken people， I hope that they can love our country like us.I know， Rome was not built in a day. I believe that after continuous hard study， one day I can speak English very well.3.友谊FriendshipEvery one of us, rich or poor, should at least have one or two good friends. My friends will listen

21、 to me when I want to speak, will wipe my eyes when I cry, will take care of me when I am sick, and my friends will go together with me side by side through this journey of life.As students, we could share more time with our friends. The friendship in our young hearts is pure, fresh and simple. I of

22、ten feel very lucky to have a lot of good friends. Especially when I had Justin as one of my best friends. Justin was my English teacher from the USA. I met him in 1996 when I was a student who could only speak very little English. Justin was a vivid young man with a bright smile on his face, and he

23、 always had his special way to make the class active and attractive. He taught us English by telling stories, playing games, singing songs, and even dancing. I could still remember very clearly that one afternoon when we fin-ished our class, we went to some other classes to sing songs for them, just

24、 like what people do in the states on Christmas Eve. It was so interesting and unforgettable. Justin was an excellent teacher,because he taught us not only how to study English well, but also the way to find out the beauty of the world and the way to be angels to others lives. I know there was frien

25、dship and pure love in our hearts. Facing this valuable emotion neither nationality nor age was important, the real importance lay in faith, under-standing, and care. Justin is the best friend I have ever had, and I know I will cherish those days of staying together with him as the best part of my m

26、emory.Friendship is a kind of treasure in our lives. It is actually like a bottle of wine, the longer it is kept, the sweeter it will be. It is also like a cup of tea. When we are thirsty, it will be our best choice, but when we have enough time to enjoy ourselves, it is also the most fragrant drink

27、.However, in this fast-developing modern society, the reality is not that. More and more people forget to enjoy the beauty of life and -the beauty of friendship. They work hard in order to gain a higher position, in the society and to earn more money for their work. Of course, we dont deny that it i

28、s important to find a bet-ter place in our lives, but we wish more and more people could pay a little more attention to themselves and their friends. All of us have to spare some time for personal lives. We have to find the chance to express our emotion and love. When staying with our friends, we ca

29、n release ourselves completely. We can do whatever we want, we can laugh together, talk together, and even cry to-gether. I should say that being together with our best friends is the most wonderful moment of our lives.As we know, we would feel lonely if we didnt even have a friend. But it doesnt me

30、an we could depend on our friends all the time. There is a famous motto saying that “A friend is like a quilt with cotton wadding, but the real thing that keeps you warm is your own temperature.” It is really true. We have to work hard together with our friends, encourage each other and help each ot

When we receive love and friendship, we should repay as much as we can.Finally, lets pray together now that one day, all of us could find the person we want to find, and could enjoy a real beautiful friendship in our lives. 32、ways bloom brightly in our hearts.4. 微笑good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen! today id like to share my personal experience of happiness and bitterness of being an english teacher. i remember, five years ago, when i stood at the teachers desk for the first time, maybe because i was too young, maybe b

33、ecause i was too inexperienced, the students in my class paid no attention to me, didnt behave themselves at all. i felt ashamed and helpless. in order to save my face, i just criticized the students seriously whenever they talked in class or even moved a little. i thought sooner or later, they woul

34、d listen to me. yes, i could control the class now, but the students and the atmosphere became strange. no, they were not listening to me. it was too quiet. the breathless silence urged me to consider the way i was teaching. then 1 august XX, i got the chance to study the new course of english. unti

35、l then could i realized that it was my frozen eyes that make the students flinch, it was my stiff face that trod out the enthusiasm in the childrens hearts. how to stimulate my class and show my warmth, so that they can enjoy their study in english? i had a deep thought. its smile. there is a kindne

36、ss called smile. it is the most beautiful language in the world. it can make distance no distance. “just awake the students with a smiling face!”i said to myself. the next day, when i stood on the stage with a smiling face, when i asked the questions with a smile, when i encouraged the children in a

37、 friendly way, the students were just shocked! but i could find there was more happiness and excitement in their eyes! gradually, they got used to it, and participated in my teaching. as i predicted, that class became a lovely one. i was moved, and said“thank you for listening, boys and girls!” in t

38、he following days, i keep on working even harder. i prepare my lessons carefully. i use flash, pictures, riddles, and interesting stories to make great efforts to help the students to learn more. but i will never forget one thing: smile, give them a smile, to give them strength, to let them feel hap

39、py, to make them confident. the children do enjoy the english lesson now, when they tell me the answers in great excitement, i can feel their gladness, and my smile is more sincerely than ever! there is kindness called smile. from the childrens yearning eyes, i understand, it is smile that makes my

This famous Indian poet once said, “Life is given to us, and we earn it by giving it.” As the saying goes, nature is given to us, and we earn it by contributing to it. However

43、, most people nowadays just want to ask for more from the nature. In fact, they do very little contribution to the nature. Therefore, the environment around us is becoming worse and worse. Do you often use batteries? Then do you know it takes 50 times more energy to make them than they produce? And

44、just one simple battery can pollute as much water as a person can drink in his whole life. The facts and figures are amazing. So would you please try to use batteries only when it is necessary? If possible, give the used ones to the recycling companies so that they will be made into new ones and won

45、t be able to pollute the environment any more. Sometimes we become complacent when it comes to recycling, but when you speak in terms of actual facts and figures that everybody can understand, people become much clearer about the problem. We, as school students, can also join in recycling activities

46、 to protect the environment. For example, our class set up a recycling center beside the back door, it is very useful. It is used to collect the waste paper and plastic bottles. In the past, our classmates used to throw all of these into the trashcan. At the very beginning of this collecting activit

47、y, it was not so warm-welcomed. Later, more and more people were influenced by the others and joined this collecting activity. Gradually, all the students in our class form a good habit to protect the environment. All of us will now put away the reusable things instead of throwing them into the tras

48、hcan. We should always remember in our mind that protecting the environment is our duty that we can never neglect.
