1、Unit 10Youre supposed to shake hands单元语法小专题(Grammar Focus)语法精讲2be supposed to的用法1be supposed to意为“应该、理应、被期望”，多用来表示劝告、建议、义务、责任等，相当于should。be supposed to的时态、人称和数等的变化都在be动词上体现，其中的to是动词不定式符号，后面接动词原形。如：Parents are supposed to ask their children to know some good manners.父母应该让孩子们知道一些好的礼仪。Youre supposed to

2、 start work at 8：30 every morning.你应该每天早晨8点半开始工作。2be supposed to的否定形式是be not supposed to，相当于should not或be not allowed to，意为“不应该，不准、不得”。如：We are not supposed to play football in the street.我们不应该在街上踢足球。3be supposed to的一般疑问句是将be的相应形式置于主语前，特殊疑问句是在一般疑问句前加上相应的疑问词。如：Is she supposed to arrive at the train s

3、tation at three oclock in the afternoon? 她应该在下午三点钟到火车站吗？4be supposed to have done sth.表示“本应该做某事但没做”。如：Hes supposed to have finished the work so far.到目前为止，他本应该完成这项工作。Youre supposed to have handed in your homework.你本该把作业交上来了。5如果表达“过去某时应该(不应该)做”时，用 was(wasnt)/were(werent)supposed to，相当于should(shouldnt)

4、 have动词的过去分词。如：I was supposed to finish the task at 4：30，but I finished it at 5：00.我应该在四点半完成任务，却在五点钟才完成。【拓展】(1)suppose作动词有“猜想”的意思，suppose sb.to do sth.意为“猜想某人去做某事”。如：I supposed him to stay at home.我猜他待在家里。(2)suppose后面也可接that从句。当主句的主语是第一人称 I 或 we，且主句谓语是一般现在时态时，从句的否定要转移到主句上。如：I dont suppose they will

5、say sorry to her.我猜想他们不会对她说对不起。(3)suppose 可用于简略答语中，用 so 代替一个肯定的宾语从句；用 not 代替一个否定的宾语从句。如：Do you suppose hell fail to catch the train? 你认为他会错过火车吗？I suppose so./I suppose not.(I dont suppose so.)我想会的。/我想不会。语法精练.用suppose的适当形式填空。1I suppose she is not yet thirty years old.2You were supposed to be here at
