7、hatajustcauseenjoysabundantsupport,whileanunjustonefindslittlesupport.TheleaderoftheTaiwanauthoritiestriestoblocktheopeningofthethreedirectlinksacrosstheTaiwanStraits,andhastakenmeasurestorestrictthedevelopmentofcross-Straitseconomictiesandtrade.ThisdoesnogoodtoTaiwanseconomicdevelopment,anditunderm

8、inestheinterestsofpeopleinTaiwan.TheleaderoftheTaiwanauthoritiesdecidedtoceasetheoperationoftheNationalUnificationCouncilandceasetheapplicationoftheNationalUnificationGuidelines.Hewasbrazenlyprovocativeovertheone-Chinaprinciple,andseriouslyunderminedpeaceandstabilityintheTaiwanStraits.Hismovesareext

9、remelyadventurous,dangerousanddeceptive.Weneedtostayalerttothefactthattheyarenowintensifyingtheireffortstopursuesecessionistactivitiesandso-calledTaiwanindependence.Theyarealsogoingallouttopursuetheirgoalofso-calleddejureTaiwanindependencethroughtheso-calledconstitutionalre-engineering.Ourcommitment

10、totheone-Chinaprinciplehasbeenconsistentandclear.Thatistosay,thereisonlyoneChinaintheworld.BothsidesoftheTaiwanStraitsbelongtotheoneandthesameChina.Chinassovereigntyandterritorialintegrityshouldalwaysbeintact.Iwouldliketotaketheopportunitytoreiteratethatnomatterwhateverpartyaffiliationstheymayhave,n

11、omatterwhotheyare,nomatterwhattheysaidordidinthepast,aslongastheyarecommittedtotheone-Chinaprinciple,wearereadytohavedialogueandnegotiationswiththem,evenincludingthosepeoplefromtheDemocraticProgressivePartyinTaiwan.Aslongasthatpartyiswillingtogiveupitsplatformfortheso-calledTaiwanindependence,wearew

12、illingandreadytomakepositiveresponsestotheirmovesandwearewillingtohavecontactsandconsultationswiththem.Wewillnevergiveupoureffortsforpeacefulreunification.Atthesametime,wewillneverwaiveinouroppositiontosecessionistactivitiesforso-calledTaiwanindependence.WewillbynomeansallowTaiwantobeseparatedfromth

18、rashintothemoonifthebrakingwastoolate,scientistsexplained.Afterthebraking,theprobesspeedwassloweddownto1.948kmpersecondandisnowtravelingalonga12-hourellipticalmoonorbit,withaperiluneofabout200kmandanapoluneofabout8,600km.TheorbitthatChangeIisnowmovingonfullytallieswiththeonewehavedesignedandthespeed

19、iswithinanormalrange,saidJiGang,anengineerofmonitoringandcontrollingbranchofthemoonprobeprogram.Theprobeisexpectedtobrakeforanothertwotimesinthefollowingtwodays,whichwillslowdownitsspeedfirstto1.8kmpersecondtohelpitentera3.5-hourorbitandthento1.59kmpersecondtomakeitentera127-minuteroundorbit,whereit

20、issupposedtostartworkingformally.ChangeIwillthenstayayearintheroundorbit,whichis200kmfromthemoonssurface,forscientificexplorations.ChangeI,namedafteralegendaryChinesegoddesswhoflewtothemoon,blastedoffonaLongMarch3AcarrierrocketonOctober24fromtheXichangSatelliteLaunchCenterinsouthwesternSichuanProvin

21、ce.TheprobecompleteditsfourthorbitaltransferonOctober31,whichshiftedittotheearth-moontransferorbitandpushedittoflytothemooninarealsense.Thenitfliedanother114hourstoarriveattheperilune200kmawayfromthemoon.Itwaspreviouslymovingaroundtheearthandexperiencedthreeorbitaltransfers,whichlifteditupfirsttoa16

22、-hourorbitwithanapogeeof50,000km,thentoa24-hourorbitwithanapogeeof70,000kmandnexttoa48-hourorbitwithanapogeeofmorethan120,000km.OnNovember2,BACCsuccessfullycarriedoutanorbitalcorrectionforChangeItoensurethatittraveledonthepre-setorbit.AsecondorbitalcorrectionscheduledforNovember3wascalledoffbecausei

23、twasunnecessary-ChangeIhadbeenrunningaccuratelyontheexpectedtrajectory,aBACCscientistsaid.The2,350-kgsatellitecarriedeightprobingfacilities,includingastereocameraandinterferometer,animagerandgamma/x-rayspectrometer,alaseraltimeter,amicrowavedetector,ahighenergysolarparticledetectorandalowenergyionde

24、tector.Theultravioletimagesensors,putintoactualuseonasatelliteforthefirsttime,hasbegunworkingsinceOctober30tocollectinformationonboththeearthandthemoon.ChangeIisexpectedtorelaythefirstpictureofthemooninlateNovember.Itwillfulfilfourscientificobjectives,includingathree-dimensionalsurveyoftheMoonssurfa

25、ce,analysisoftheabundanceanddistributionofelementsonlunarsurface,aninvestigationofthecharacteristicsoflunarregolithandthepowderysoillayeronthesurface,andanexplorationofthecircumstancebetweentheearthandthemoon.Chinaslunarorbiterprojecthascost1.4billionyuan(US$187million)sinceresearchanddevelopmentoft

26、heprojectwasapprovedatthebeginningof2004.ThelaunchoftheorbiterkicksoffthefirststepofChinasthree-stagemoonmission,whichwillleadtoamoonlandingandlaunchofamoonroverataround2012.Inthethirdphase,anotherroverwilllandonthemoonandreturntoearthwithlunarsoilandstonesamplesforscientificresearchataround2017.Chi
