To be specific, means of transportation such as cargo planes and ships that are commonly used in the long-distance transport of food would consume a significant amount of fuel, and the excessive exhaust released by such vehicles would pollute the environment. Furthermore, t

6、he proper preservation of food necessitates fresh-keeping techniques like refrigeration, which would cost extra energy. Therefore, global food trade apparently raises carbon emissions and aggravates environmental problems. In addition, imported food may harm local food markets. Large international f

7、ood corporations can drive prices down to occupy the market with their industrial chains and strong capital, so that individual farmers would be unable to keep their market share due to a lack of competition. As a result, some of them may suffer a loss and even go bankrupt. Once the local food indus

8、try fails, the residents in that area will have to rely on imported food, which means that their food security will be jeopardised if the food supplier raises prices or has difficulty maintaining stable supplies.To conclude, despite the convenience the global food trade may bring, serious environmen
