Welcome to the Revolution.The Digital Revolution, also sometimes called the third industrial revolution, is the change from analog mechanical and electronic technology to

2、 digital technology that has taken place since about 1980 and continues to the present day. Implicitly, the term also refers to the sweeping changes brought about by digital computing and communication technology during the latter half of the 20th century. Analogous to the Agricultural Revolution an

3、d Industrial Revolution, the Digital Revolution marked the beginning of the Information Age. 1Digital revolution has brought great changes for people. But some said that it is a wicked system. In some aspect, it can be interpreted as a wicked system. It is the reason that digital revolution provide

4、information worldwide, but in a virtual way which means not really existing in real life. Central to this revolution is the mass production and widespread use of digital logic circuits, and its derived technologies, including the computer, digital cellular phone, and fax machine. That is why it can

5、be interpreted as a wicked system. In the time of digital revolution, the information resources have become the core resources for countries to compete with others in the competitive competition of both economy and politics. Because of the differences of socioeconomic and other demographic levels, t

6、here is a big divide in developing information of individuals, households, businesses, and geographic areas which is called the digital divide, while the global digital divide designates countries as the units and examine the divide between developing countries and developed countries on an internat

7、ional scale.In the past, the communication and the exposure of information have been suppressed by the totalitarian regimes. However, it has been connected and easily accepted by people with the digital revolution. What is more obvious is the economic impact brought by the digital revolution. With t

8、he World Wide Web (WWW), globalization and outsourcing become a new trend for the world, especially for the newly developing countries. Compared with the past, the world become closer and people can know others and grasp chances of business. The way of individuals and companies to interact is radica

9、lly changed. Given China for an example, it grasped the chance and made the policy of open and reform. The industry of information and the digital grows fast in China. All of this provides chances for both small regional companies and big national companies, especially for the small regional compani

10、es. They were suddenly given access to much larger markets.Such new concepts as On-demand services and manufacturing and rapidly dropping technology costs made possible innovations in all aspects of industry and everyday life. The companies make full use of digital divide to gain profits. It can be

11、seen clearly that after initial concerns of an IT productivity paradox, digital technologies have significantly increased the productivity and performance of business.Preventing a digital divide is an essential goal for both business and governments. To that end, business has been working hard throu

12、gh independent projects to provide assistance to disadvantaged economic groups, localities, regions or countries, aimed at transforming the digital divide into a digital opportunity. Almost any sizeable company today has taken up some local or regional responsibility in bridging the digital divide.

13、The governments adopt a policy framework which ensures that access to digital information and communication networks is a viable option for the business at large. Global business organizations believe that such a policy framework is one that promotes open markets, competition and private sector inve

14、stment. In order for innovation to actually generate productivity and income impacts at the economy wide level, the necessary inputs and conditions must also be widely available. A crucial policy challenge is to encourage and promote the expansion and distribution of “digital” opportunities. These o

15、pportunities can contribute to and encourage economic development. Business has spent enormous resources on research and development to make the Internet an effective commercial medium that has brought about substantial increases in economic efficiency through more transparent processes and greater

16、information. These efficiencies are manifested, for example, through reduced production cycles and better customization of products and services. Productivity resulting from innovation will be maximized when the regulatory environment surrounding the labor, capital and product markets is conducive t

17、o competition and adaptation. Indeed, the commercial use of the Internet has already increased competition within markets. In particular, developing countries can reap these benefits resulting from the technological.In order to win in this challenging digital revolution, both developing and develope

18、d countries strive to win. The digital divide brings chances for business. However, the developing of the business should rely on the support of the government policy and also the market.
