Course Team and Lecturer InformationCOURSE DESCRIPTION：This course aims to further develop skills in li

2、stening by placing emphasis on dialogues and conversations in various academic and daily-life settings. It will offer participants the opportunity to become more familiar with ideas and concepts that form the basis of an approach which is readily applicable to many different settings and which may p

3、rovide a useful complement to existing listening skills. It covers a good deal of ground in the two class hours per week and requires considerable effort and self-study to consolidate (enhance/expand) new vocabulary recognition and English usage through various listening activities. It will also int

4、roduce students to the academic culture of a western university enabling them to develop their confidence and reach a higher level in the ability to listen to and comprehend English.Typically, situations or activities covered include:- listening to recorded reports and stories- reviewing new vocabul

5、ary in the recorded reports and stories, including explaining cultural background- limited TV/movie viewing with listening guides and review prior to evaluation through quizzes- assigning vocabulary lists for the students to review and evaluating their understanding throughrecorded stories, matching
