7、msforthefuture.AndIhopetohelptheChinesepeopleunderstandmoreofAmericanshistory,thelessonstheAmericanpeoplehavedrawnfromit,andthedreamsweholdforthe21stCentury.IbelievebothChineseandAmericansaspiretomanyofthesamethings:toprovideforourfamilies,toteachourchildren,tobuildourcommunities,toprotectoureath,to

8、shapeourownfuturesandpassbrighterpossibilitiesontoourchildren.TheremaybethosehereandbackinAmericawhowonderwhetherclosertiesanddeeperfriendshipbetweenAmericaandChinaaregood.Clearlytheanswerisyes.Wehaveapowerfulabilitytohelpeachothergrow.Wecanlearnmuchfromeachother.Andastwogreatnationswehaveaspecialre
