1、1.0 INTRODUCTION1.1 Authorisation Mr. Wu, CEO of the Huanqi Company, requested this report on 15 April 2012.1.2Aim of the reportThe purpose of the report is to evaluate the quality of the toy helicopter and quality of conformance. It aims to suggest recommendations to minimise these problems1.3Limat

2、itation The Huanqi Company is seated in the Guangdong Province, so it is far away from here and there are no changes to transfer my ideas to Huanqi face to face. 1.4 Scope of the reportThis report provides an evaluation of the quality of the toy helicopter, and it also refers to some problems about

3、the toy helicopter. At last, the report also gives some recommendations to improve the major case issue.2.0 THE BASIC INFORMATION OF THE TOY HELICOPTERThe full name of the toy helicopter is 857(D) wireless R/C 3CH helicopter. From the name of the toy helicopter we can know that the toy helicopter wi

4、ll be control by the infrared ray. Nadler (2007, p.6) claims that for under $40 you will get a helicopter, its controller and a charger for the flying battery. I brought this toy helicopter in a shop for 130 RMB. In my opinion, the price of the toy helicopter is a little dear and it is not worth thi

5、s price. Since my friend spent 100 RMB to buy a same toy helicopter from the internet. The toy helicopter has two main parts: the helicopter and the transmitter. The transmitter is made of plastics and it needs 6 batteries to start. The toy helicopter is made of alloy rather than plastic and the toy

6、 helicopter is very exquisite which is composed of 53 kinds of elements.3.0 WHY CHOOSE THE TOY HELICOPTERThough there are many kinds of toys can fly in the air, the requirement requires that the price of the toy had better not exceed $10 to $15. So some big flying toys can not be the target of the e

7、valuation. The reason I chose this toy helicopter is that this toy is the cheapest flying toy in so many shops. The purpose of buying the toy helicopter is to evaluate the quality of the toy helicopter, so it is unnecessary to buy a valuable toy. The price is 130 RMB which matches the condition and

8、the manufacturer is Huanqi which can be seen as a big and reliable toy manufacturer in China. 4.0 ASSESSING THE INSTRUCTIONS There are two instructions in the toy box. One of the instructions is the parts picture of the toy helicopter, and another instruction is the notes to avoid some wrong operati

9、ons and it also tell the users how to play the toy helicopter. Thayer (2001 ,91) introduces that the specification will introduce a number of boundary condition upon the use of signs.The operating instruction manual refers to 8 areas, such as, caution, control method and special suggestion and so on

10、. It has 8 pages in two languages: Chinese and English. The contents are very abundant and complete, and the two languages instruction have not many technical terms which can make the users well understand. However, the instructions are printed in a long paper so that it is hard to turn the pages an

11、d find the information quickly.5.0 EVALUATING THE PERFORMANCE AND QUALITY OF THE TOY HELICOPTER5.1 Evaluating the Performance of the Toy Helicopter There are many useful instructions in the specification to guide the users to use the toy helicopter in a right way. The operational range is about 12 m

12、eters and the charge time is about 40 minutes and the flying time is about 8 minutes. Using 40 minutes to charge the battery to fly in the air for 8 minutes, the button cell in the toy helicopter may be too small to store too much energy. Sanger & Wales (2012) describe that profiling (program profil

13、ing, software profiling) is a form of dynamic program analysis that measures. Comparing to the toy helicopter of my friend, the performance of my toy helicopter is better than his in the mass. My toy helicopter can fly about 8 minutes while his can fly less than 8 minutes. However, the degree of sen

14、sitivity of my transmitter is not high. Cai et al (2001, p.39) state that the stabilizer bar is very often employed to cooperate with the swash plate for achieving desired rotor flapping reponses. And the toy helicopter can not keep balance in the air, may be the stabilizer bar is not be equipped ac

15、curately. Sometimes, I can not start my toy helicopter in a long distance while my friend can start his toy helicopter in any limited distance. 5.2 Evaluating the Quality of the Toy HelicopterAfter many times of flight, the skeleton of the toy helicopter and the tail is still keeping a good state. T

16、he fuselage is solid since it is made up of alloy which is hard to destroy. As Mundy (2010, p.3) explains, quality is the totality of features and characteristics of a product that bear on its ability to satisfy given needs. Some parts are of high quality and they are not easy to be destroyed. While

17、 some part of the fuselage is bare in the air, and it is not safe for operation of the wheel gears. Once, I played the toy helicopter and it flied closely to a towel and then it is entangled by the towel. The toy helicopter can not fly after that flight any more, so I checked the toy helicopter and

18、found that there were some knitting wools in the wheel gears. After several flights, the appearance of the toy helicopter has no big problem, while the joints of plastic nose and the alloying fuselage begin to loose. Since the plastic nose and the alloying fuselage are combined together with two sma

19、ll screws which make the joints not steady. And I find that all of the joints are loose in different degrees. The different two parts are jointed together only with two screws, and it has not arrived to the steady stage.6.0 MY PERCEPTION OF VALUE Buying things needs to intellect rather than aimless

20、and the things need to worth the price. There is a common saying in China: cheap things are not good. Ziglar (2004, p.69) says that, some consumers clearly understand that good things are not cheap and cheap things are seldom good. However, some expensive goods are not likely good. The best way is t

21、o compare similar goods in different shops to choose the highest cost performance product. Schneck (2007, p.113) states that the perception which precedes rational knowing is a perception of value. And the main purpose of the consumption of buying the flying toy is to accomplish the assignment. Afte

22、r that, we adults may forget the toy and finally send or throw the toy. The consumption of buying the flying toy is not wise for us.7.0 CONCLUSIONAfter evaluating the performance and quality of the toy helicopter, it can be concluded that: 7.1 The instruction is printed in a long paper so that it is

23、 hard to find the needed information quickly.7.2 The fuselage of toy helicopter is bare in the air may not safe and may cause some problems.7.3 The joints between the different parts have only two small screws so that the joints are not so stable.8.0 Recommendation It is recommended that: 8.1 The lo

24、ng page instruction has rich content so that the users may take some time to find the information they need. The manufacture can print the instruction into the form of a book and put a catalogue in the first page. Then the users can find the information they need more quickly. 8.2 The fuselage of to

25、y helicopter is bare in the air can make some small things be involved in the gears which will lead to the toy helicopter can not fly. The manufacture had better not reduce cost blindly without considering quality. Publishing (2008, p.177) expounds that it is important to find ways to minimize produ

26、ction costs while still maintaining quality. Manufacture had better use the material encases the entire fuselage to stop the little things be involved in the gears. 8.3 Most parts of the toy helicopter are combined by the screws, while only two small screws. After several flights, the joints are bec

27、oming more and looser. So the best way is to use at least three screws to fasten the different parts of the toy helicopter.
