Or we can make an effort as Martin Luther King did to understand and tocomprehend and replace that violence that stain

9、 of bloodshed that has spreadacross our land with an effort to understand compassion and love. For those of you who are black and are tempted to fill with - be filledwith hatred and mistrust of the injustice of such an act against all whitepeople I would only say that I can also feel in my own heart

10、 the same kind offeeling. I had a member of my family killed but he was killed by a whiteman. But we have to make an effort in the United States. 13、 But they the Challenger Seven were aware of the dangers but overcamethem and did their jobs brilliantly. We mourn seven heroes: Michael Smith DickScobee Judith Resnik Ronald McNair Ellison Onizuka Gregory Jarvis and ChristaMcAuliffe. We mourn their loss as a nation together. For the families of the

14、 seven we cannot bear as you do the full impact ofthis tragedy. But we feel the loss and we&39;re thinking about you so very much.Your loved ones were daring and brave and they had that special grace thatspecial spirit that says "Give me a challenge and I&39;ll meet it with joy." Theyhad a

15、 hunger to explore the universe and discover its truths. They wished toserve and they did. They served all of us. We&39;ve grown used to wonders in this century. It&39;s hard to dazzle us. Butfor twenty-five years the United States space program has been doing just that.We&39;ve grown used to the id

16、ea of space and perhaps we forget that we&39;ve only justbegun. We&39;re still pioneers. They the members of the Challenger crew werepioneers. And I want to say something to the schoolchildren of America who werewatching the live coverage of the shuttle&39;s take-off. I know it&39;s hard tounderstan

17、d but sometimes painful things like this happen. It&39;s all part of theprocess of exploration and discovery. It&39;s all part of taking a chance andexpanding man&39;s horizons.
