4、now plymouth, massachusetts.during their first winter, over half of the settlers died ofstarvation or epidemics. those who survived began sowing in the first spring.all summer long they waited for the harvests with great anxiety, knowing that their lives and the future existence of the colony depend
5、ed on the coming harvest. finally the fields produced a yield rich beyond expectations. and therefore it was decided that a day of thanksgiving to the lord be fixed. years later, president of the united states proclaimed the fourth thursday of november as thanksgiving day every year. the celebration

12、死于受伤(wound).a:2. it was decided that a day of thanksgiving to the lord be fixed: decide可是个让你省事儿的好词了。它后面假如接从句,往往接虚拟语气。所以望见decide后面的从句,你就可以大胆地用动词 (should)+"原形""啦!b:3. dressing:调味品、填料。这里的dressing可不是穿的呀,a bread dressing可不是"面包衣服"!和bread在一起,dressing自然就是吃的啦!它是"调味品"的意思,&qu

14、为大家介绍一个世界各地的感恩节乙:每逢11月的第四个星期四,美国人民便迎来了自己最重要的传统民俗节日感恩节。这个节日始于1621年。那年秋天,远涉重洋来到美洲的英国移民,为了感谢上帝赐予的丰收,实行了3天的狂欢活动。从今,这一习俗就沿续下来,并渐渐风行各地。1863年,美国总统林肯正式宣布感恩节为国定假日。届时,家家团聚,举国同庆,其盛大、热情的情形,不亚于中国人过春节。甲: 感恩节,记得吃烤火鸡! 西方的感恩节为什么吃烤禽呢?我们就要看圣经了。圣经旧约出埃及纪中,有这么一段:摩西带著以色列人走到西奈沙漠中,没吃的也没喝的。以色列人大为不满。起先埋怨。摩西就说,上帝听见了他们的埋怨。会给他们吃
15、的。 结果其次天就有大批的鹌鹑飞来,落在他们的营地上。摩西说,这就是上帝给你们吃的肉。于是他们欢快地大吃了一顿。这可能是犹太教最早的一次感恩节。乙:以色列人用什么烹调方式吃掉了这些鹌鹑,圣经没有记载。但是我们一想就知道:肯定是烤著吃的。因为他们当时正在沙漠,很缺水,不行能煮。也不行能蒸。而且他们也不会蒸。只有烤不要任何炊具。他们从埃及逃出来, 肯定没有带笨重昂贵的锅。那时候根本就没有铝和铁。一般人用的陶罐很简单打碎,也不能带著上路,所以他们肯定是把鹌鹑烤了。这也是最好吃的一种作法。于是西方文化中有了这么一个内容:禽类是上帝给人的救援和礼物。人们应当把它烤了吃。而且是在感恩节吃它们最为合适。甲:
