2、book in the Old Testament of the BibleThe story of a man named JobHe lived in the land of UzJob was perfectly righteous,fearing God and shunning evilHe had 7 sons and 3 daughtersJob the man who had it all7000 sheep,3000 camels,500 oxen,and 500 donkeysHe had many servants.He was the the greatest of a

3、ll the people in the East.Job 1:3God makes a wagerJob 1:6One day the sons of God(angels)came to present themselves before Yahweh,and Satan was among them.Job 1:8Yahweh said to Satan,Have you taken note of my servant Job?There is none like him on earth,perfectly righteous,fearing God and shunning evi

4、l.Job 1:9-10Satan answered Yahweh,And not for nothing!You have put a protective wall around his family and his possessions,blessing his prosperity and increasing his wealth.Job 1:11But if you were to stretch out your hand and destroy everything he has,he would surely curse you to your face.Job 1:12Y

5、ahweh said to Satan,Fine then,I put everything he has in your power.Only,do not harm the man himself.Death and DestructionJob 1:14-15And a messenger came to Job,saying,The oxen and donkeys were in the field when the Sabeans attacked.They carried them all away,and killed all the servants with the swo

6、rd.Job 1:16Before that servant had even finished speaking,another messenger arrived,saying,The fire of God has fallen from heaven!It burned up the sheep and the servants,consuming them!Job 1:18Before that servant had even finished speaking,another messenger arrived,saying,Your sons and daughters wer

7、e eating and drinking at their oldest brothers house,when suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert!Job 1:18It struck the four corners of the house,and it collapsed on the young people.They are dead.Job 1:20-21Then he threw himself on the ground and said,Naked I came from my mothers womb,and n

8、aked will I return there.Yahweh has given,and Yahweh has taken away.May the name of Yahweh be blessed.Job 1:22In all this,Job did not sin,nor did he accuse God of any wrongdoing.Job 2:1,3One day Yahweh said to Satan,Have you noticed Job?He holds fast to his perfect righteousness even though you pers

9、uaded me to destroy him for no reason.Job 2:4-5Satan answered Yahweh,saying,A man will give away all he has to save his life.But if you were to stretch out your hand and strike his body,he would surely curse you to your face.God turned Job over to SatanJob 2:6Yahweh said to Satan,Fine then,he is in

10、your power.Only,do not kill him.Job 2:7And so Satan left Yahwehs presence and inflicted painful boils on Job from the bottom of his feet to the top of his head.Job 2:8Job took a shard of broken pottery and scraped himself with it,sitting among the ashes of the dung hill outside the town.Job 2:9After

11、 much time had passed,his wife said to him,Are you still holding on to your perfect righteousness?Curse God and die!Job 2:10But Job said to her,You speak like a foolish woman!Shall we accept what is good from God and not also accept what is evil?Job 2:10In all this,Job did not sin in what he spoke.G

13、m insignificant.How can I answer you?I put my hand over my mouth and will say no more.Job 40:6,8-9Then Yahweh spoke to Job from the whirlwind,saying,Do you criticize my justice?Do you declare me wrong and yourself right?Do you have an arm as strong as Gods and a voice as thunderous?ob 42:1-3,6Job an

14、swered Yahweh,saying,I know you can do all things,and no plan of yours can be thwarted.I have spoken of things I do not understand.Therefore I despise myself and repent.Job 42:7-8Then Yahweh said to Eliphaz,My anger burns against you and your two friends,for you have not spoken the truth about me as

15、 my servant Job has.Now take seven bulls and seven rams and make a burnt sacrifice for yourselves.Job 42:9So Eliphaz,Bildad,and Zophar(Jobs friends)went and did what Yahweh had told them.Job 42:10Yahweh restored to Job his fortune,doubling the amount he had before.Job 42:12Yahweh blessed the second

16、part of Jobs life more than the first.He had 14,000 sheep,6,000 camels,1,000 oxen,and 1,000 sheepJob 42:13And he had 7 sons and 3 very beautiful daughters Job lived a long life.Job 42:16After this,Job lived for 140 years.Job 42:17Then Job died at a very old age.Video South ParkTakes place in a small
