3、高效课堂中显得尤为重要。本文将竞争机制与初中英语教学相结合,首先介绍了三种竞争模式、适用对象、利弊以及解决办法。其次通过实践,对三种类型进行深入分析与探讨。最后重申竞争机制在初中英语教学中的重要作用。关键词:学习竞争;高效课堂;初中英语;竞争机制Research on the Application of Competition Mechanism in Junior Middle School English TeachingAbstract Competition prevails eveywhere in mordern society. With the continuous prog
4、ress and development of the society, the competition is accordingly more fierce. Human beings can improve their abilities constantly through competitive methods. Competition is a specific teaching and learning method for the purpose of stimulating the enthusiasm of students and increasing the effici
5、ency of studying. According to the requirements of the New National English Curriculum Standards, to promote an initiative atmosphere in the class has become a new scientific concept. Therefore, its vital to trigger the students interests in English during the process of creating efficient class. Th
6、is paper binds up the competition mechanism with the English teaching in junior middle school. First, it introduces three competitive models, applicable objects, advantages and disadvantages and the solutions respectively. Second, it analyses and probes into the three models through practice. Then i

Introduction1.1 Analysis of Current SituationNowadays, English has been considered a significant
8、 language for international communication through many countries. People are more and more focused on English education in junior middle school. As everyone knows, English is not only an extremely practical course, but also a commonly-used language tool. One of the key elements of language learning
9、success is the use of language learning strategy (LLS), which supports learners learning in formal education settings and beyond (Alfian et al., 2016).However, numerous problems about English teaching in junior middle school still exist in the current situation that teachers should analyze them clos
10、ely and take measures as soon as possible to change the current situation in English teaching.Under the requirements of the new curriculum standards, English class teaching is compelled to meet the higher standards. Many English teachers have made a lot of efforts to explore a variety of English tea
11、ching methods in middle school (Hui He, 2018).In the teaching course of English in junior middle school, the teachers still dominate the class. The teaching method cannot keep up with the pace of reform. The minority of teachers adopt a student-centered measure, while the majority of them take cramm
12、ing method of teaching to impart knowledge to students. The latter usually causes students to be in a passive position and does more harm to language teaching. That is to say, traditional teaching model will suppress students enthusiasm and interests in study and ignore the true purpose of communica
13、tion(Net 1). Let alone some underachievers in English language learning, they will dislike English more and feel more unfulfilled.There is a saying that interest is the best teacher. At the same time, interest is also the key to learning a language well. Among many teaching methods, competition is u
14、ndoubtedly an important way to arouse students interest in English learning. The teachers who only repeat what the text-book say cant make students focus on their lesson because their curiosity and the sense of competition are gradually developed. Consequently, this paper will elaborate some methods
15、 about changing the teacher-centered English teaching classes in junior middle school. Integrating competition into the classes can not only make classes more vibrant but also motivate the students in English learning. It is necessary to leave more time and space for students in class to cultivate t
16、heir ability of learning autonomously so that they can really become the master of the classroom. A well-designed activity can push the class teaching atmosphere to the climax and make every student devote themselves to the world of English learning. But the poorly-designed one will not receive the
17、expected effect. Whats worse, it can also cause the negative effect, such as class disorder.This paper introduces different forms of competition that are adopted to organize the interaction between teachers and students. These forms will mobilize the learning initiative, promote students interest in
18、 English learning, and sort out students self-confidence by referring to the competition mechanism. Accordingly the satisfactory English teaching effect can be achieved in English teaching of junior middle school.1.2 Importance of the Study Here are the explanations of two proper nouns: Teaching Com
19、petition Mechanism and Catfish Effect. Competitive Mechanism, one of the contents of market mechanism, is the means and method to select the superior and eliminate the inferior in the activities of commodity economy. While the Teaching Competition Method refers to the method to stimulate students in
20、terests and make classroom atmosphere more active during the process of English teaching. Catfish Effect originally comes from the practice of Norwegian fishermen, who put catfish into containers with live sardines to keep them active. This keeps the sardines alive long enough to reach the market, w
21、here they can fetch a higher price than frozen sardines. Catfish effect has been used flexibly by more and more modern enterprises under the pressure of market and enterprise competition (马越 , 2018). A person having no adversaries is just like a kind of animal having no enemies, which would cause an
22、 atmosphere filled with lethargy and sluggishness. So this paper states the importance of the study about the application of competition mechanism in junior middle school English teaching.Firstly, Teaching Competition Mechanism can stimulate students interest in learning. The maximum status in learn
23、ing means the relaxed and focused status(朱淑玲, 2014: 01). Therefore, students will study more efficiently if they are stimulated than forced. Adopting the Catfish Effect and Competition Mechanism can arouse students interests in learning English. Accordingly, the classroom atmosphere and the teaching
24、 effect will be improved a lot. Under such circumstance, teachers will keep energetic and enthusiastic to make the whole class more alive. Students wil feel extremely satisfied during the process. Then students will not just rely on the teachers explanation, instead theyll learn to think independent
