1、Good evening teachers, Im very pleased to have an opportunity to talk about my teaching ideas here. My topic is about food and lifestyle, and it is made up of four main parts and some additions.Teaching MaterialThe content of my lesson is the reading section of Unit 6 Food and lifestyle in the first

2、 book of Year 7. It provides all-around practice of listening, speaking, reading and writing on the topic of this unit. If the students can master it well, it will be helpful for them to learn the rest of this unit. Therefore, this lesson plays an important part in the English teaching of this unit.

3、Teaching Aims1. Knowledge aimsThe Ss can master the usage of the important words and expressions about food and lifestyle, and use the frequency adverbs in the proper situation. Ss can also understand the content of the lesson, talk about food and lifestyle, and get their own ideas about whether it

4、is a healthy lifestyle or not.2. Ability aimsTo develop Ss abilities of listening, speaking, writing, and reading, especially their skimming and scanning ability to find the specific information in the passage. To train Ss ability of studying by themselves and cooperating.3. Value aimsAfter the clas

5、s, students can develop a healthy lifestyle.The Important and Difficult PointsStudents should be able to describe their lifestyles correctly and grasp the usage of some frequency adverbs.One of the teaching difficult is how to enable the students to use new words and phrases in proper situation all

6、through their daily life. The students also find it difficult to describe their experience with the proper logic and well organized language.Teaching MethodsFor achieving these teaching aims, I will use the following teaching methods.1. Communicative Language Teaching (交际教学法)2. Task-based Language T

7、eaching (任务教学法)3. Situational Teaching Method (情景教学法)Communicative approach and Computer-Assisted Instruction are to be used in the course of this lesson. And I will try my best to limit TTT(Teacher Talking Time) and increase STT (Student Talking Time). So during this lesson, emphases are to be laid

8、 on:1. Student-centered teaching2. Task-based learning3. Activity-based teaching (individual work; pair work; group work; class work)Teaching ProcedureStep 1: Review (5mins)Review what they have learned in the last class and call the students to answer in turn. (It could be a translation of a phrase

9、 or a sentence, or it could be the spelling of a word) Purpose of my design:To ensure that the students are familiar with and have mastered what they have learnt in the previous lesson. Step 2: Pre-reading(10mins) I will show the students my three meals and hobbies, and ask several students to talk

10、about theirs. Next, I will show them some pictures about several unhealthy lifestyle and ask them to describe them in English and talk about their thoughts.Purpose of my design:To catch Ss attention about the class/topic/passage.Step 3: While-reading(20mins)Fast reading: Listen to the tape and try t

11、o answer the question: Whats the passage mainly talk about?Intensive reading:Activity 1：detail understandinga.Read the passage carefully and find out the answers of the questions, such as What does Kitty love doing? And what does she have for breakfast? And so on.(If possible, I will make a chart an

12、d ask the students to fill in the blank.)b.Read the passage again and finish the T&F questions. Students should find the hints in the passage.Activity 2: frequency adverbs learninga. I will let the students find out the frequency adverbs and circle them.b. And then ask them to rank the frequency adv

13、erbs from the highest to the lowest.Purpose of my design:(1) Enable Ss to know something about the lifestyle.(2) Enable Ss to understand the given material better by using different reading skills. Proper competition can arouse the Ss interest in English learning. Task-based teaching method is used

14、here to develop the Ss ability of communication and their ability of cooperation will be well trained as well.Step 4: Post reading(10mins)After learning the passage, ask the students to think about whether Kitty and Daniels lifestyles are healthy or not, and why? Answer the questions after group dis

15、cussion. Ask the students what they can do to form a good lifestyle.Purpose of my design: I think if the Ss can finish this task well, they will benefit a lot in their spoken language. Most Ss can take their parts in the activities, especially for the Ss who have trouble in English study.Step5: Home

16、work1.Listen to the tape again after class and try to retell the passage.2.Copy key phrases twice in English and once in Chinese, and be able to use them with ease.3.Write a short passage about their lifestyle, try to use the key phrases and some frequency adverbs as more as possible.Purpose of my design: Homework is so important and necessary for the Ss to master the knowledge they learned after class.
