2、inceton is the ticket for life.We see our kids college background as something showing how well or how poorly weve raised them.But we dont realize we are selfish.We think more about ourselves than the kids. Its true getting into college has generally become tougher because the number of high school
3、graduates has grown.We suffer great anxiety;we worry there wont be enough honours to show off.Fearful parents urge their children to apply to more schools than ever.We hold the belief that graduates of best universities must enjoy more success because they get a better education.All that is seemingl
4、y acceptable and mostly wrong. “We havent found any convincing evidence that a prestigious university (名牌大 学) matters,” says Ernest T.Pascarella of the University of Iowa,co-author of “How College Affects Students”,an 827-page report of hundreds of studies of the college experience. 5、e studies,graduates of prestigious universities do earn much money.But even this seems like just a coincidence. Kids count more than their colleges. As early as 1966,biologists asked the government to consider reintroducing wolves to Yellowstone Park.They hoped that wolves would be able to control the elk and coyote problems.Many farmers opp
15、osed the plan because they feared that wolves would kill their farm animals or pets.
