The popularity of the poem is largely a result of the simplicity of its symbolism: the speaker must choose between diverging (分叉的) paths in

Though it is a simple poem, different people have different interpretations of how the speaker feels about his situation and how the readers view the speaker.Frost wrote the poem in the first person, which raise

According to a biography, Robert Frost: The Years of Triumph by Lawrence Thompson, Frost would often introduce that the speaker was based on his friend Edward Thomas, “A person w
4、ho, whichever road he went, would be sorry he didnt go the other.”In the first stanza, the speaker must choose between two paths in different directions. He regrets that he cannot follow both roads, so he pauses for a long while to consider his choice. In this stanza and the next, one road seems pre
5、ferable; however, in the third stanza he has decided that the two paths are roughly equivalent (相同的).And then he tries to cheer himself up by comforting himself that he will return someday and walk the other road.In the last part of the poem, however, the speaker realizes that he probably w川 never r
