6、呼应：英语中，从句（特别是宾语从句）的谓语动词的时态时常要受主句谓语动词时态的限制1.如果主句谓语动词是现在时态或将来时态，从句可根据意思需要，选择任何时态：I know that he is/was/will be in Beijing.We will find out when they arrived/will arrive.2.如果主句谓语动词是过去时态，从句一般要用过去时态(1)如果从句动作与主句动作同时发生，从句用一般过去时或过去进行时:They couldnt understand why she spent so much money on clothes.The profes

8、t the boss would give him a promotion.The doctor said that she was dying.注意:1.当从句表示客观事实或真理时,其时态可不受主句谓语动词的影响,而用一般现在时:The teacher told the students that water boils at 100.2.时态呼应多见于宾语从句、表语从句和同位语从句，状语从句和定语从句可根据意义的需要选择任何时态：I didnt go to the ball because I am not fondof dancing.He spoke much more fluently at the meeting than he usually does.The car which often breaks down was bought 5 years ago.
