How carefully he is reading!注意：一般情况下，以what和how开头的感叹句可以相互转换，转换后意义不变。e.g. What a tall building it is! = How tall the building is!17.宾语从句-.宾语从句的定义：在复合句中用作宾语的从句叫宾语从句。二.三要素A.当宾语从句具有陈述意义时，用that引导。它在句子中只起引导作用，在口语中常可省略。当宾语 从句具有疑问意义时，可用if或whether引导。它们在句子中的意思是是否。或者用连接代词(what, who,

15、which 等)或连接副词(when, where, how, why 等)引导。1)当由陈述句充当宾语从句时，用that引导，只起连接作用，在从句中不作成分，也无词义，常被省 略。如:He said that hecouldfinishhis work before supper . I believe (that)you are right.2 )当由一般疑问句充当宾语从句时，用if或whether引导，意为“是否二如：I dont know if / whether he still lives here after so many years 但在下列情况下只能用whether ：在具

I dont know whether to go .B.宾语从句的时态一般受主句时态的影响。当主句是.一般现在或一般将来时时，宾语从句可以根据具 体情况用适当的时态；当主句是一般过去时，从句要用相应的时态。但当从句表示的是名言、客观真 理或自然现象等时，一般不受主句时态的限制，均用一般现在时。I dont know when he will come back . Can you tell me which bus I should take?2 .宾语从句的附加疑问句宾语从句的复合句在变成反意疑问句时，如果主句的谓语动词为think,guess,believe,suppose等 且主语为第一人称时，附加部分要由从句决定(注意否定前移)；如果主句不是think等上述动词 或谓语动词是这些词且主语不是第一人称时，附加部分由主句决定。I think that he is right, isn
