4、it.”2.They Are Taking the“Bike Bus”to SchoolIn the Eixample area of Barcelona,Spain,children and their families are riding bikes to schooltogether.The program is called“bicibs”or bike bus.It started with five families.Then more andmore families joined in.Now there are hundreds of riders.The Eixample

9、ands.In order to solve the problem,China built a food court for futuremigrating elephants.The food court is in Jinghong,Yunnan Province.It covers an area of 670,000 square meters(m2).The work on the food court started last December and finished in May.The food court came intouse lately.It has lots o

10、f plants and five saltwater pools.It can provide migrating elephants withenough food,so they will not break into villages and farmlands to look for food.Each year,elephants walk to new places as part of a migration.When they are hungry,they ofteneat in farmers fields.It is a big headache for local p

11、eople.Luckily,the food court can now help.4.Toys Go GreenMany kids in the world love McDonalds Happy Meals because of their kid-friendly toys.Now,thekid-friendly toys are going to be eco-friendly.McDonalds sells more than 5,000 Happy Meals every minute.Together with the meals,a lot ofplastic toys go

12、 out of McDonalds restaurants and into the homes of families across the world.This leads to serious pollution problems.McDonalds is trying to solve these problems.It plans to use more green materials in its HappyMeal toys.The move is part of a plan to cut the use of plastic by 90%by the end of 2025.

13、“Plastic means it can cause pollution,so what were doing is helping shift to green materials.And that way,we can cut down pollution and help the planet,”said a member of McDonalds.The green toys are already available to children in the UK,Ireland,and France.Now,they willbring joy to more children around the world.McDonalds is also looking for ways to make use ofthe old plastic Happy Meal toys in its restaurants.Its restaurants in the UK,for example,haveused the plastic for playgrounds and restaurant trays.That will make a difference.
