3、the practices,representations,expressions,as well as the knowledge and skills(including instruments,objects,artifacts,cultural spaces),that communities,groups and,in some cases,individuals recognize as part of their cultural heritage and handed down from generation to generation.It is sometimes call
4、ed living cultural heritage,and is manifested in the following domains:oral traditions and expressions,including language as a vehicle of the intangible cultural heritage;performing arts;social practices,rituals and festive events;knowledge and practices concerning nature and the universe.Unit 6Unit
5、 6BOOK BOOK 2 Generally speaking,intangible cultural heritage is passed by mouth-to-mouth and body-to-body culture chain,which makes the intangible cultural heritage one of the most vulnerable part of culture and tradition.UNESCO has four major programs in the field of intangible cultural heritage:P
6、roclamation of Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity,Living Human Treasures,Endangered Languages,Traditional Music of the World.On October 17,2003,the 32nd General Conference of UNESCO adopted the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage(hereinafter
7、referred to as the Convention).China acceded to the Convention in 2004.Unit 6Unit 6BOOK BOOK 2 By December 2020,China has been included in the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage list with a total of 42 projects,ranking first in the world.Among them,there are 34 representative works of intangible cu
