The vocabulary part focuses mainly on the words from the reading text in the section of “Reading and T

2、hinking”. Three activities are designed to help students further explore the words belonging to the topic of this unit. The grammar part of this unit involves “the past perfect tense” and “the past perfect passive voice”. 教学目标（核心素养） At the end of this section, students will be able to:1. Enhance the

3、ir understanding of target words by finding words from the text which have similar meanings; 2. Infer the meanings of some food idioms based on the context;3. Identify the form, meaning and function of the past perfect tense and the past perfect passive voice;4. Make a conversation using sentences c

9、n to the food words in them.Ask students to match the meaning on the right with the coloured word on the left.Ask students to have a group discussion about the question: Why does each food have such a meaning?
