1、英语阅读作为语言输入的重要方式,在高中英语教学中占有极其重要的地位。根据 高中英语新课程标准的阅读能力目标,高中生需要掌握一定的篇章理解能力,学会 获取信息、加工处理信息的能力。但目前高中生的英语阅读能力普遍偏低,与高中英语 新课程标准的要求还有一定的距离。因此如何提高中高中生英语阅读能力就一直成为困 扰学者的一大难题。词块是一种能被整体存储和提取的多词结构。语言学家发现:在自 然语言中,词块的数量远超于单词的数量,而且词块的表达力和它所含的信息量是单词 所无法比拟的。随着心理学和语料库语言学的发展,词块也引起了英语教学研宄者们的 关注。近年来,虽然从事词块应用研宄的学者不断增多,实证研宄的数
2、量也不断增加, 但是对于如何把词块应用到英语教学中,特别是高中英语阅读教学则相对不足。 本文依托心理学和语料库语言学理论,根据阅读教学的需要,整合了现有的研宄成 果,认为词块就是一种共现频率高,能被使用者作为整体储存和提取的语言结构,它们 是事先预制好且被频繁使用的两个或者多个词的组合。词块可以分为搭配、聚合词块、 惯用表达、句子框架和固定词组等五种。同时笔者提出了语料 库方法和教学经验相结合 的词块提取方法。在此基础上,提出两个假设: 1)词块教学法有助于提高高中生的阅读 效率 ;2)在英语阅读教学中,词块教学法的教学效果优于传统的教学法。并选取了漳州 市第三中学高三年两个平行班,96 名学
3、生为研宄对象,进行了 16 周的教学实验。通过 SPSS16. 0 软件对实验数据进行比较分析发现:实验后,实验班和控制班在阅读效率上存 在显著差异。 本实验研宄进一步论证了词块理论在高中英语阅读教学中的有效性,认为运用词块 理论进行高中英语阅读教学有助于提高学生的阅读效率,同时学生在语言知识、 认知反 应等非智力方面也会有一定的良性转化。针对研宄结论,笔者提出了培养学生的词块意 识、合理制定词块教学计划和加强学生词块记忆、扩大词块量的教学建议。虽然本实验 摘要 研宄存在着一些不足之处,但就目前关于高中英语阅读教学的各种模式和方法中,笔者 认为可以把词块理论列入其中,并尝试着推广和运用。 关键

According to the requirements of New English Curriculum Criteria, high school students are required to master the ability of discourse comprehension, and learn to get and process
5、information. However, high school students9 reading ability is generally low, which can not meet the requirements of New English Curriculum Criteria. Therefore, how to improve it has become the major concern of researchers. Lexical chunks, as multiword structures, can be stored and retrieved as a wh
6、ole. The linguists find that almost everything we say, hear, read or write can be found in some forms of lexical chunks and that a student who has a large vocabulary will only be able to function in a fairly limited way while the other student who uses lexical chunks will be far more communicatively
7、 competent. With the development of psychology and corpus linguistics, more and more scholars on English teaching are becoming interested in the research of lexical chunks. In recent years, although the number of scholars engaged in the research of chunks application is increasing and most of them a
8、re paying more attention to the empirical research, the research of English teaching in high school? especially that of English reading is relatively insufficient. This research is based on the study of psychology and corpus linguistics. According to the requirements of reading teaching, the author
9、integrates the result of existing research .The lexical chunks are prefabricated structures made up of two or more words, which frequently co-occur and can be stored and retrieved as a whole. They can be divided into five kinds as the following, collocation, polywords, institutionalized expressions,
10、 sentence builders and fixed phrases. In addition, the author put forward a new way of picking out the lexical chunks, which is the combination of corpus-based approach and the knowledge of teachers. Based on these theories, the two hypotheses were put forward. The first is that lexical approach mig
11、ht be a good way to improve the English reading acquisition; and the second is that the lexical approach might be better than traditional approaches in reading. In order to test whether the m hypotheses were true or not, an empirical research plan was designed. 96 subjects were selected from Senior
12、Three of Zhangzhou No.3 Middle School. All of them were from two natural parallel classes. The experiment lasted for about sixteen weeks. The experimental statistic was collected and analyzed by the software SPSS 16.0. The result of experiment shows that after the experiment there have been notable
13、differences in reading efficiency between the experimental class and the control class. In conclusion, the results of experiment suggest that the lexical approach is a good way to improve the English reading ability. The lexical approach is not only helpful to the reading of high school teaching but
14、 also contributes to the positive transformation in language, cognitive reaction and other non-intelligent factors. Based on the result of the research, the author gives some suggestions on lexical approach, such as the cultivation of the awareness of chunks, making proper learning plans for student
15、s and expanding the number of stored chunks. Although some limitations still exist in this study, as on one of the ways of teaching pattern, lexical approach can be applied and populated, which is believed to have great implications for foreign language learning and teaching in the future.
