But he never predicted that this treatment became the evidence of Dennis father abused the child. In the court, a series of conflicts is followed, and the so happy family became fragmente
3、d in a few time. We cant imagine scrapping is just a little thing for Chinese. Why should it become a legal setbacks in the United States. Scrapping has experienced thousands of years history. Why became illegal behavior in the US. This question is very valuable for people to think about it. As far
4、as Im concerned, this problem is due to the cultural differences between Chinese and western country. Western people cannot believe the treatment of Guasha which has a long history in China. The culture differences existed in everywhere. Different country has different cultures. We should realize it

Because the cultural difference itself is an objective factor. Only when cultural differences cant be accepted this tragedy would happen. As we a

Its no doubt that they didnt understand correctly and verify the illegal evidence, which lead to the contrary to the justice of law. If the court

The result of the film in addition to the normal conscience and more is due to the communication and understanding of each other. I think the heros name is “Da Tong”. Its true meanin
10、g is the communication and understanding of other culture. Gua Sha is a movie about the differences between American and Chinese culture. Xu dato ng is a video games designer in St. Louis. When his father visits from China, he performs Gua Sha (a Chinese traditional treatment) on his grandson,
11、 which leaves bright red marks on the s kin and causes a lawsuit of child abuse. In the court, Datong loses his mind so that finally he l oses custody of his son.I think this scene is shocking and thought-provoking to most of the Chinese audiences. But the most impressing scene to me is the ending.
12、Datong wants to see hi s son in Christmas eve, he has to climb a pipe to the ninth floor which his son lives. I think the pipe is not only a pipe, but also a gap, a deep gap between American and 5000-year Chinese c ulture. He wants to climb over the gap and he will never succeed, perhaps no Chinese
13、people r eally could succeed.
I have never imagined that I would write a film review in English. Because when referring to feeling and culture, I can hardly express my whole idea in Chinese, let alone in English. Well, just have a try. The Gua Sha Treatment is designed to discuss the culture differences. We
15、 can know that from Datong, the name of the leading man. Datong is a classical Chinese term. It refers to a utopian vision of the world in which everyone and everything is at peace. While life always plays jokes on people, Datongs peaceful life didnt last long. He was accused of abusing his son beca
16、use of the bruises from Gua Sha. Actually, Datong was not the person who gave the little boy Gua Sha treatment. Its his father. But Datong decided to be a scapegoat. This was a culture difference. In Chinese traditional culture, law is not important than affection. Though we also praise those people

The biggest culture difference the film showed us was that Chinese culture was based on experience while w
18、estern based on specific evidences. Gua Sha has been used as a treatment for thousands years, and many people advocate it for their own experience. But we should not abandon our own culture, just like Gua Sha, a treatment that helps blood circulate better. So keep on Gua Sha and communication. May be someday there will be
21、 a Datong World.
