2、，这些局限性给中国学生带来很多英语学习上的问题。同时给中国的英语家庭教师更多的挑战性。作为一个自考生，我很有幸的从事了两年的英语家庭教育工作，本文将结合我的一些经验，从建立良生关系，提高学生兴趣，创造良好的英语学习氛围，充分利用好个别教育的优越性等几个方面探讨中国英语家庭教师如何在中国这样的言语环境下去提高教学的效率。关键词：教育，学习氛围，兴趣，语言环境Abstract The vocation private teacher has a history of several thousand years in China. Family private education has developed into a scaled industry. English arouses widely concentration within Chinese family because of its status of

4、 international language. Family English education makes up a big market share in all the individual education market， and plays a vital role. Lack of a proper language circumstance， the great cultural difference between china and English spoken countries， and the interruption from the mother tongue

5、restrict the students cognition and application on English study. It is really a burden and great challenge for the English tutors in China. As a self-taught learner, I am so lucky that I have two years experience for English family teaching. This thesis will combined with some of my experiences and

6、 thoughts to discuss how a English tutor in China to improve his teaching efficiency by the following viewpoints： establish a good teacher-student relation ，raise the students interest on English study ，create a proper English study environment and make use of the advantage of individual education .

With the advance of peoples expectation and the improvement of teaching model, this state will be changed. A rational teaching model is not only to raise the students commonness, but also th

10、e individuality. Moreover, to design an individualized scheme considering every students individuality .individual education is one of the trends in education innovation. Family private education just makes up the lack of individual education. In my opinion, three kinds of students want to employ an

11、 English tutor: one is his foundation is weak, another is he has tried his best but in vain, the third is he is now at certain height but want to get higher. In the parents viewpoint, English is necessary as a worldwide communicational way. Even some parents think that to employ an English tutor can

12、 deal with all the problems. Actually it is a wrong thought, an English tutor, especially in china face more problems and it is really a burden. The university students who want to be an excellent English tutor are always exploring how to be successful in the domain. As a self-taught learner, I was

13、lucky to have two years English tutor experience, I just want share some of my thought here. But first of all we should know the following things.The Language Environment for English Study in China English is a foreign language is china. English learners study under the Chinese language environment.

14、 We dont have an English study atmosphere like that in English spoken country. We learn it through classes. Classes and books are the input origin for the main language. The teaching model is always designed by teachers, encircle teaching material to listen, talk or read, write and roles performance

15、. The teaching is based on the principle of imparting knowledge. Many teacher demand the teacher to review or prepare the lessons outside classes and do all kinds of exercises. The students are limited in the scope of the teaching stuff or rely on the teachers explain on the classes. What they done

16、is only busy for the examinations. This situation has already fallen away the attention of English study and broken the rules of English learning .under the situation of exam-oriented education system, the main language environment in China is the teachers ,teaching material and the exercises.Withou

17、t doubt, some learners can read the English magazines, newspapers and some English version original books, or listening the radio. But those contents are difficult to match his actual English level. Some is either simple to activate the interest or too hard to know. Because the quality and the quant

18、ity of English the learners contact are not optimistic, that decreases the learners efficiency and passion. At the same time, the students lack the need and the motive for the actual communication, and lack the practice in real circumstance,. The form and development of language ability suffer a ser

19、ious barrier. So in china, some students in university have learnt English for more than ten years but can not communicate fluently with the others(伍晓明 2008:1) Main Problems the Chinese Students Face with English Learning The great difference between Chinese and English and the internal language cir

20、cumstance in china make it a very difficulty for the Chinese English learners. Many problems exist in English study for the Chinese students. The following listed are the typical ones Most Chinese students are not interested in English study , especially when they are lagged behind , they even plan

21、to give up this subject The most Chinese English learners have a poor language environment and situation. It is a really barrier for English study Lack of practice and use , the English knowledge is easy to be forgotten or not impressive Most English learners have a weak listening , expression abili

The following is some of my opinions.Concrete Methods to be a Successful English TutorBuild an Image of Both Teacher and Friend Education was defined as a social activity of cultivating a person ，and teaching was always defined as a education acti

Teacher should be with love, love is a sincere passion and a noiseless language. Who love his student is respected by his students. A friendly teache

24、r-student relation makes the students happy and active. So Gorky said who dont like kids can not be respected by kid in turn, who like them can educate them by contrary（杜远东 2007：1）.Be an English Teacher with AuthorityWhy did I stress the image of teacher? First of all, a English tutor is a teacher.

25、The student or his parents pay for his courses. The tutor should be responsible for his teaching quality and his student. Secondly, establish the teachers image can enhance his authority to the student. Authority is different from highly moral and holy stateliness. If a teacher is a noble, learned,

26、enlightened and skillful with teacher, he was easily to be accepted. A teacher who is strict but equal to his students, respect, to know and care for his students can set an example. Such a teacher is really a teacher with authority. That give his student a information that the teacher is the educat

27、or and he is only a learner. What the teacher said is an order. The tutor can raise his efficiency by setting such an image. But how to form authority？ Education is a subtle mutual contact from peoples soul (Sukhomlinsky 1983:8) Educating is not a easy job，but a complex and difficult task. It needs

You must love your students and try to get close to them with your heart and soul. Briefly spe

29、aking，love your students is the first step to form the authority. Teachers authority formed rest with many factors. Include the society， the government and the students attitude on teacher. But the behavior criterion of the teacher is the main factor. Such as noble personality ，skillful ability in w

30、orking and excellent psychological diathesis. Besides, appearance, style of life and custom has direct influence on the teachers authority. For example .what you show to your student must be healthy, active, modest. In a word, you must do anything like a teacher.Be a Friend of Your StudentTo be a fr

31、iend of your student is one of my experiences. on the standpoint of humans living meaning，education is communication with human who have equal moral quality(邹进 1991:1) .When you are friends , the kids will like you and think you are equal in interpersonal scope. On the other hand，he will easily shar

32、e his thinking to you ，and any other difficulties on study. As a English tutor，to establish such a friendship is no longer a tough problem. You must remember that before you take the task to nature a person, you must make sure that you are a person and a worth highly praising example(Rousseau 2003:9

That indicates you focus on his opinions. When the students are speaking ,dont interrupt Keep contact with your students, tell the

Have your student to solve the difficulties in classes and dont scoff them Be humorous and dare to scoff yourself To greet your student every time everywhere. Once the interest is formed, the learner will focus on his study, set free his potential and overcome his difficulties. A student who is intere

37、sted on English can effectively master the knowledge, be happy and positive when they are studying English. So we can see that interest is so vital for English study. Interest is the beginning of initiative, creativity and active. The most important motivation is interest in work or study ，and the i

38、nterest when you get the achievement and the cognition to the social value of this result. In my viewpoint, it is the school and the teachers obligation to enlighten and enhance the youngsters mental strength. With this mental foundation, one can pursue his highest fortune, art and knowledge（Einstei

39、n 2005：102）. But as far as I know, the English learner who need a private teacher are mostly get bored with English or have no the control ability. And why they failed is just because of lack of interest. The following listed are some my suggestions about how to raise the learners interest on Englis

40、h study.Teaching Combines with RealityWhen you are given a class ，combine the knowledge on the books with reality can let your student know the actual meaning of English learning. By this method，we can not only develop the students observe ability but also the appetite for knowledge. For example, th

41、e title of the lesson is The Changeable Weather in UK. As a tutor， you should make sure that the main task of this lesson is to tell him why the climate there is changeable. So how to achieve the expected efficiency and what to prepare？ok ，may the books have explained clearly，but for the student it

42、is quite difficult. Dont you think you must to download some stuff from internet, Or to prepare a map? Mediterranean climate or warm current are both abstract definitions. So enough stuff is necessary for this lesson. That is helpful for improve the students interest and raise the teaching efficienc

43、y. For activate the students passion and develop his actual problem solve ability. I always encourage him to solve the actual problem with knowledge. For example, my students book demands the users to give a brief conclusion every week. I ever ordered him to give a short speech to his parents every

44、week in English to conclude the study of the past week. The first week he can only speak“dad and mum， I can finish all the homework that mister Lu set”， but a few weeks later he can speak a lot ， the vocabularies “diligent”“delighted” was used. I was really full of achievement sense.Affective Motiva

45、tionConsidering the internal demand and individual character of the student to give him encouragement, try your best to motivate your students internal drive. Seize his flash with indifferences. Praise can translate common into positive factor. Estimate and appreciate successful factor in his the pr

46、ogress，strengthen his desire，play up strengths and avoid weaknesses. When he is in frustration，find out the correct and advantage factors， buildup his confidence and open up his internal power. These are what New English Curriculum recommends new teaching ideas under new model. Two years ago, I was

47、an English tutor and my student is a secondary school entrance examination student. But he is not enough confident in English study. He felt nervous when make a mistake and didnt willing to open his mouth. After a few days teaching, we become friend and I encourage him to speak out what his thinking

48、 in English. And after any success, I praised him. And I let him know that make mistake is a process to advance. Finally he became talkative. You can give your student warmth and strength by using the words and sentence： “Good job” “Well done” “Terrific” “Dont be frustrated” “You have made a progress” .
