4、r,Myra,will come or sand her a good present for her the 80th birthday.So she got up early and put on her best dress.Now she is standing beside the window where she can see the postman when he came down the street.The neighbors all help her to celebrate.Narrator:Yesterday,Mrs.Morrison gave the flat a

5、n extra clean,and today she bought a card and a bunch of marigolds when she came to do the breakfast.Mrs.Grant downstairs made a cake.They talked with each other in kitchen.Mrs.Grant:Good morning,Mrs.Morrison.I conld say the old lady will get a wonderful present from her daughter Myra.Haha.Mrs.Morri

6、son:Sorry,I dont think so.You know it was only 3 times that since Enid was dead Myra had been to see her mother.Whats more his,husband never do it.Mrs.Grant:Maybe you are right.ai.It will be wonderful if Enid is still alive.She is a considerate girl.Mrs.Morrison:Year,she is a good girl.The night bef

7、ore her operating she only told her mother just a minor operation,together with arranging me to take care of her mother.Mrs.Grant:Whats an excellent girl.Narrator:Suddenly,clatter,clatter up the stairs.Jonnie knocks on the door.Jonnie:Granny,granny,happy birthday.This is the present.Narrator:Jonnie

8、shows a packet of mints.The old lady:Thank you my dear.Jonnie:Did the old sister Myra sand her presents?The old lady:maybe the present didnt come yet.She is too busy!Narrator:The lady is sure of that.Two spots of colour brighted her cheeks.Jonnie:Today,I wont go out to play until the post come.And I

9、 guess you will get lots and lots of present the same as me last week.Narrator:After saying that Jonnie goes downstairs.And says to himself.Jonnie:Whats would she like?A pair of slippers perhaps.Or a new cardigan.A cardigan would be lovely.Blues such a pretty colour.Jim has always liked her in blue.

10、So many lovely things.Whats present granny will receive?Narrator:The old lady is standing by the window,watching.The postman turns around the corner on his bike.Her heart is beating fast.Jonnie also sees it and runs to the gate.Than clatter,clatter up the stairs.Jonnie knocks on the door.Jonnie:Gran

11、ny,granny,Ive got your post.The old lady:No parcel,Jonnie?Jonnie:Why no presents?The old lady:Maybe the parcel was too large to come by letter post.It would come later by parcel post.We should be patient.Narrator:The words seems not for Jonnie but for herself.however,when she finds the check her heart was broken.The check flutters to floor like a bird with a broken wing.Slowly,the old lady stoops to pick it up.Her present,her lovely present.With trembling fingers she tears it into little bits.
