Show some examples of how the sentence work. 教学过程Step 3 Presentation The subject-predicate agreement means that the verb should be used according to the person and the number of the subject. I am a teacher. She is a doctor. They are workers. He gets up at five oclock every morn

5、ing. They have not come yet. We go to school every day. My brother has worked in that hospital for five years. Singular form:1. When the word “and” is used to connect two nouns or phrases which means the same person, same thing or the same concept, we often use the singular form of the verb. The wor

6、ker and composer has composed a new production. A knife and fork is on the table. 2. When it is described with every, each, no, many a, more than one, we often use the singular form, even when there is a coordinate subject. No man and no animal is to be found on the moon. Each child has an English n

7、ame. Example:Every boy and every girl _ to attend the evening party. A. like B. is like C. wish D. wishes 3. When the plural forms of time, distance, quantity and value are used as the subject, we often use the singular form since those nouns are abstract and regarded as a complete set. Five pounds

When nouns of the book name, newspaper name, plays name and the nations name are used as the subject, which means only one book, one newspaper

When some nouns such as trousers, pants, shorts, glasses, scissors are used as the subject, which are used after “a pair of”, we often use singular form. It is likely that a new pair of s
