6、prompted a chorus of internationalconcern.Among those speaking up are the Nobel prize winners Abhijit Banerjee,aneconomist and JNU alumnus now at the Massachusetts I nstitute of Technology inCambridge,who is also critical of the new law.Many of the governments supporters are upset that university st
7、udents,academicsand scientists are also opposing the new law.But they must know that freedom ofexpression is core to a universitys mission;that the ability of citizens to protestpeacefully against government policies is a right,not a privilege.Without it,noopposition would be able to present its cas
