1、Chinese traditional etiquette Traditional Chinese culture is beginning to capture the attention of the world.This is true even as popular culture that has traditionally been considered Western begins to spread throughout China.Kung Fu,especially,has had a great impact on the millions of people who f

2、irst learned about China through it.From that,they may come to China and learn about other aspects of this culture,such as traditional operas like the Beijing and Sichuan ones.Asian nations have long known about the greatness of ancient Chinese culture.Their own cultures are a mix of native ones and

3、 those Chinese characteristics.Korea and Japan long ago adopted ideas such as Confucianism is something that continues today even as it is challenged by Pop Culture.This strength comes from the ideas given in the Four Books of Confucianism(The Great Learning,The Doctrine of the Mean,The Analects of

4、Confucius,and The Book of Mencius).These books built upon the ideas of an even more ancient period codified in the Five Classics.From them,the West learns such things as Fengshui and other concepts that are uniquely Chinese.China has taken steps to further this spread of its culture by establishing

5、Chinese Cultural Centers in such places as the United States and Europe.while,how much do you know about chinese traditional etiquette?As a chinese,its our duty to promote chinese traditional culture,and of course,traditional etiquette is an important part of our culture.So next,let me show you some

6、 of those etiquettesFirst,something about student etiquetteRespect the national flag,national emblem.Learn to sing the national anthem,and sing the national anthem when lifting the national flag,keep standing with eyes staring at the flagRespect the parents,teachers and the elders,as well as take ca

9、ese host use their chopsticks to put food in your bowl or plate.This is a sign of politeness.The appropriate thing to do would be to eat the whatever-it-is and say how yummy it is.If you feel uncomfortable with this,you can just say a polite thank you and leave the food there.Eating No-nosDont stick

10、 your chopsticks upright in the rice bowl.Instead,lay them on your dish.The reason for this is that when somebody dies,the shrine to them contains a bowl of sand or rice with two sticks of incense stuck upright in it.So if you stick your chopsticks in the rice bowl,it looks like this shrine and is e

11、quivalent to wishing death upon a person at the table!Make sure the spout of the teapot is not facing anyone.It is impolite to set the teapot down where the spout is facing towards somebody.The spout should always be directed to where nobody is sitting,usually just outward from the table.Dont tap on
