2、pen circle and the command(指令)to pause.Then theres a call to breathe and reflect.“My hope is that if someones in that place where theyre not feeling great,I can at least give them a moment in their day,”said Taylor Tinkham,a dentist and the creator of CeMental Break.The idea for CeMental Breaks came
3、 to Tinkham during an April blizzard(暴风雪).By the time the snow melted a few weeks later,she was ready to bring the concept to life on the citys streets and sidewalks.“Why cant adults play with chalk?”she said.“It can be almost therapeutic(治疗的),and you feel like youre doing something good for your co
4、mmunity.”Though so far she has done most of the drawing herself,Tinkham has taken to the Instagram social media site to recruit(雇)an army of artists.Together,they are trying to brighten pavement around the world.The long-term goal is to spark(发起)a sidewalk chalk movement that promotes public awarene
5、ss of mental health.“Both the acts of drawing the CeMeFntal Breaks and pa using inside of them can help people live mindfully,”Tinkham said.The beauty of the chalk is that it washes away with the rain,so the CeMental Breaks are impermanent(短暂的).“People stop seeing things when they pass them every da
6、y,”Tinkham said.The CeMental Break design also contains deeper symbolism.The circles Tinkham draws are always open,which she says has a double meaning.Theyre supposed to be inviting,welcoming people to stand in them.But the open circle is also a Japanese symbol,wh ich Tinkham said,represents“our awe
7、some(令人敬畏的)imperfection.how beautiful it is that none of us are perfect”.Tinkham tailors her designs and prompts(促使)to her mood and surroundings.Shes drawn little teeth around a CeMental Break outside her dentists office,encouraging people to pause and relax their jaws(下巴).A rosy ring chalked out ne
