But she gripped him and shoved him into the sewer and raced out to the other end of the tunnel down to the riv

45、ers edge.She poured him out into the water. For a second he was still visible. Then all she saw was the glimmer of the moon in the silent flowing river. She plunked down the ewer and flew through the air like a bird into bed. In the morning Stephen rushed to her; shouting that he was gone, and asking “where and how”.
