IntroductionAfter 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, another significant event -the 2010 World Expo will b

The countries of the world paid much attention to this Expo .People from all work of society are full of confidence and expectations for China to hold such an Expo .Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said that the Shanghai World Expo will be an exciting opportunity.1.To create

6、 a good exterior environment for the development of China s economy Holding the World Expo 2010 has great importance in terms of improving international image and status of our country and accelerating the development of economy .China is one of those countries who develop fastest and has great pote

7、ntial in economy. Marketization and internationalization of Chinas economy has increasingly become the focus of attention around the world. In the past twenty years , China actual total GDP increased by 6.3 times ; real per capital GDP increased by 5-fold ; import and export trade volume increased b

8、y 12.4-fold ,Chinas remarkable achievements was witnessed by the whole world .A the same time , China is also a country who attract most overseas investment in the world . Chinas economy will still develop at a high speed of 7% about or so .and turning into a most attractive investment area .Until 2

9、010, the total GDP of China may reach 19 trillion yuan.Holding the World Expo 2010 will enhance Chinas international reputation and have a better knowledge of Shanghai, which helps to increase the degree of modernization of Shanghai . Expo be held in Shanghai, China will make the world understand Ch

10、ina more, and witnessed great changes in China, and also accelerate the Marketization and openness of Chinas economy , China will further participate in the development of the world economy going. Held the World Expo in Shanghai can improve Chinas international reputation.2. To generate vital influe

11、nce on every factor of Chinas macroeconomic2.1 improve the growth of investment in real estate Firstly, in order to hold a excellent Expo in China ,the fundamental facilities should be improved. So the Expo will advance Shanghais infrastructures at least 10 years. The city looks totally brand-new .H

12、olding Expo, Shanghais air, rail, highway and other transportation infrastructure will be improved a lot . In addition, we learned that according to the Tenth Five-Year Plan, Shanghai is also going to invest 20 billion yuan to improve the condition of roads, transportation, telecommunications, elect

13、ricity, water and other infrastructure facilities Secondly, organizing the World Expo can effectively show the investment environment to investors around the world and provide a good opportunity for development. Therefore, the Shanghai World Expo will expand the visibility of Shanghai and attract do

14、mestic and foreign capital to create more favorable conditions, thus contributing to the enthusiasm of the whole social investment, particularly non-state investors for investment.2.2 To promote the expansion of Chinas consumption demand and bring new hotpot of consumption Worlds Fair involved in a

15、long industry chain, which has fairly obvious amplification effect on output and input .Studies has shown that the investment of exhibition itself can generate 10 times investment of relevant industries. In addition to sponsors and exhibitors gained great direct commercial benefits, other related in

16、dustries have also received substantial indirect economic benefits.2.3 To accelerate the development of trade effectively in ChinaFirstly, to host the 2010 World Expo can effectively promote Chinas tourism consumption growth. Generally speaking, if a city organizes large-scale exposition, the citys

17、tourism industry is often the most direct beneficiary .World Expo 2000 in Hanover, Germany where it attracted 18 million people around the world to visit during the 153 days. 2010 Shanghai World Expo will also develop new tourism products, the Expo will be very attractive as a resort , and attract d

18、omestic and foreign tourists pour in .It was estimated that more than 70% of visitors will travel around after visiting Expo ,which creates many good opportunities for tour operator in Shanghai and surrounding area to combine new product . Considering the number of tourist to Shanghai over the past

19、years along with the number of population and the condition of economic development in Shanghai and surrounding areas, etc. experts foresee the number of visitors to 2010 World Expo will exceed 70 million people, which will set up a new Expo record in the past 150 years .The significance in enlarge

20、the influence of Expo and promoting the development of international Expo business speak it for itself .It was preliminary estimated that the direct revenue of tourism of Shanghai will reach 14.42 billion yuan.Secondly, it helps to improve consumption requirements in hotel industry, culture and ente

21、rtainment service etc .It was worked out by World Tourism Organization that every yuan growth in tourism will stimulate 4.3 yuan growth in other industries. During the Expo in Genoa, Italy, the comprehensive benefits pulled by tourism industry is equivalent 11 times as their initial investment .Unti

22、l 2010, the number of beds in Shanghai will add up to 400 thousand. If we charge 300 yuan per bed, hotel industry will also receive considerable economic income.2.4 To create considerable job opportunities for Chinese peopleSome experts predicted that for each additional 1000 square meters exhibitio

23、n space, will create nearly 100 job opportunities .The Hanover Expo in 1996 created nearly 100 thousand jobs. The success of application for Expo bring tremendous employment opportunities for Shanghai. 2.5 To promote the development of Chinas financial industrywe can see from the preceding analysis

24、that the Shanghai Expo will effectively stimulate the growth of fixed asset investment and expand domestic demand and promote the development of Chinas economy and trade ,and this is no doubt that the development of domestic financial industry has created excellent opportunities for financial indust

25、ry , at the same time ,it ask for a higher requirement to financial industry .Firstly, Shanghai World Expo will provide domestic and foreign investors with tremendous business opportunities, it will attract a large number foreign investment flow into Shanghai. In addition, the capital needed to hold
