5、uth bundEXPOSite LocationThe planning area is the important connection between the world famous historic Shanghai Bund and Shiliupu Ferry Terminal in the North and the Expo Site in the South.Shanghai Old Town as historic root of the City,with its characteristic round shape enclosed by Renmin Road,is
6、 the hinterland of the planning area.Together with Shiliupu this bank of Huangpu River is building the historic identity of the harbour city.This study is focusing on the area between Zhongshan Lu and Waima Lu for build-ing and masterplan structure and on the bank between Waima Lu und Huangpu mainly

9、storic Bund is a very wide and represen-tative promenade and Shiliupu is a highly functional Traffic spot-both next to the busy and huge Zhongshan Lu.This big road is separating/isolating the riverside open space bank from building structures and direct connection to street life.Waima Lu is in contr
10、ast to this a smaller Road and pedestrians can easily cross and access the bank from the street.Therefore we see a unique chance for Waima Lu Riverbank to save the typical Shanghainese street life as a characteristic for this Area.A smaller and human scale is possible in the contact for Shanghainese

12、egulatory Plan from Huangpu Riverfront W11,W13,W15 of 2008 and adjustment of 2010,for a larger area,which is currently in approval process.This Regulatory Plan is defining basic requirements for this design which have to be respected and will be developed further.new Financial Center as round shaped

16、protection issue while creating a continuous promenade2.0 OVERALL URBAN PLANNING?12Urban FabricThe historic fishbone shaped street structure is formed as the natural and fast-est connection for people and trading-goods moving between the harbour/ferry and Shanghai Old Town.This net of small parallel

18、t to save this identity by adding the new buildings and streets within this linear structure.Small scale buildings and narrow shaded lanes have mostly vanished from the area between old town and shoreline up to now.At this location we see a chance to partially preserve the historic character and ext

22、ldings emerge,therewith achieving a homogenous character.A new city quarter,with own recognizable qualities emerges.The scale of the plots and permissible height development allows a high use and density on the valuable sites between Zhongshan Lu and Waima Lu,which never-theless can preserve of a vi
23、vid street life,a quality so typical for Shanghai.All these streets and building structures lead to the connecting Waima Lu and to access stairs onto the new designed Shoreline Promenade.The new extending Shoreline is reachable from all the properties in the shortest possible distance and permeabili
24、ty to the city quarters behind emerges.总平面沿新、旧弄堂和小巷伸展的长方形建筑结构在线性的历史建筑肌理内自成一体。按简洁清晰的设计理念,新、旧建筑物混合闪现,形成均匀一致的特征。一种具有自身标识品质的新的城市街区脱颖而出。地块的规模和允许的开发高度赋予了中山路和外马路之间这一宝贵用地的高利用率和高建筑密度,但却能确保其可以提供一种充满生机、而又具有典型上海特征的高品质街区生活。所有的街道和建筑结构均通往连接的外马路,并可到达新设计的江岸休憩散步区的台阶。新拓展的黄浦江岸线可从所有物业以最短的距离到达,并渗透至其后各城市住宅区。18gmp internat
