1、Syllabus for the International CourseChristianity and the Western CultureThis course is aimed at broadening students9 horizen, improving their cultural quality and nurturing them into people with internationally competitive talent by learning about the history and teachings of Christianity and the B

2、ible with stories of biblical characters and idioms. Behind the language skills is the culture of the target language and Christianity is one of the three origins of the western culture and in class, the students watch biblical films and after calss, they read the Bible. And it is a must fbr student

3、s to study the western social and humanistic sciences including legal system and history.The goals of this course are as follows:1, understand the historical background of the origin, the development and the present situation of Christianity, one of the three world religions and one of the three ori

4、gins of the western culture;2, Learn about the teachings, canons, denominations and important festivals of Christianity;3, Comprehend the deep influence of Christianity on philosophy, literature, art, linguistics, ethics and legal system etc. in the western society as well as in the whole world;4, L

5、earn about the compilation and the contents of the Bible and get familiar with the stories and prominent people and the literary quotations and idioms in the Bible;5, Understand that u religious factor? is a key to the contemporary politics, economy and society;6, Remarkably improve the listening co
