1、Module 7 Summer in Los Angelesat the end of. 在的结尾;在的末端at the end of意为“在的结尾；在的末端”，后面常常跟表示时间、地点的名词。in the end意为“最后；最终”，指时间，相当于at last或finally。by the end of 意为“到为止。其后常跟表示时间的词，常用于完成时态。更爱prefer(1) prefer是及物动词，意思是“更喜欢、比较喜欢”，相当于like better。(2)由prefer构成的短语：1) prefer A to B意为“喜欢A胜过B、比起B来更喜欢A”，此短语中A和B的形式 一样，可

2、以是名词、代词或者动名词，但必须两个词形式统一。2) prefer to do something rather than do something 意为“宁愿做某事，而不愿意做某事。”此短语中prefer的后面用动词不定式，than的后面用省略to的动词不定式。有重量的weigh(1) weigh表示“称的重量”，是及物动词；表示“重(多少)。是不及物动词。(2) weight是名词,意为“重量，体重”。比较：by weight和in weight by weight表示“按重量，in weight表示重量上”。(3)常用于以下表达中：What s the weight of？意为”的重量是

3、多少? ”puton/lose weight意为“长胖/减肥”当然是certain形容词，意为“确定的；无疑的”，相当于sure,对应的副词为certainly。 常用结构：be certain / sure of sth.对某事有把握be certain / sure to do sth.肯定做某事be certain/ sure + that从句确信certain和sure的辨析(1) certain为形容词，不仅表示相信，而且表示有根据，主语既可以是人也可以是物。(2) sure既可以是形容词也可作副词，常表示人的主观愿望或信念，主语通常是人。prepare(1)作为及物动词，其后接双宾

4、语。即prepare sb. sth = prepare sth. for sb.,意为“为某人 准备某物其后也可接动词不定式作宾语，即prepare to do sth.意为“准备做某事工(2)作为不及物动词，意为“准备”，常用于prepare for sth”意为“为做准备，(3)其名词形式为preparation,意为“准备；预备3depend1 )depend v.视而定；决定(于)2)常用短语depend on意为“依靠”，后接名词或代词，它的主语可以是人也可以是物, 但含义不同。He is a(care) man and always does everything(care).L

8、ad better do sth.意为“最好做某事”。had better not do sth.意为“最好不做某事。常见的连词添加连词 and, both.and, not only.but also；转折连词 but, yet；选择连词or, either.or, neither.nor；因果连词for(不能放在句首)，so等。1) and的基本用法(1)连接对等成分，当对等成分为3个及以上时，前面的并列成分间用，隔开，后两项用 “and 连接。连接两个相同的词，表示强调。前一个分句是祈使句(相当于一个条件状语从句)，后一个分句表示结果时，用and连接。2) but的基本用法 表转折，不能

9、与although, though连用。3) or的基本用法连接对等成分，表选择，意为或，还是；在否定句中，当要同时否定两个并列成分且 共用一个否定词时用or连接，如用and连接，则要重复使用否定词。(2)连接两个主语时，谓语动词与最接近的主语在数上保持一致。(3)前一句是祈使句，后一句与前一句之间表转折，or此时意为否则。4) so的基本用法 表结果，意为因此，所以，不与because连用。5) not onlybut also, either.or和neithernor连接对等成分,可以是主语、谓语、宾语， 也可以连接状语、补语、表语，但连接主语时，谓语动词应与最近的主语在数上保持一致。练

25、.让某人拥有某物(尤指钱或时间)(4)allow + that .承认hope的用法希望(1)从说话语气上看，hope用于表示可能实现的事情，后接从句时，用陈述语序。(2)从含义上看，hope多用于指对好事的盼望、预想；对坏事的预想则多用Im afraid.o(3)从时间上看，hope所希望的一般指将来或现在的事情，不用于指过去的事情。(4)从句型结构上看，hope可用hope to do sth结构，而不能用hope sb to do sth结构。(5) hope后面还可以接that从句，意为：希望;能就好了。wish的用法希望例句I wish I were in Australia now

27、祝福，表示对对方的一种祝福和 愿望。Wish you a merry Christmas.祝你圣诞快乐。辨析wish和hopewish意为希望，愿望，一般用于难以实现或不可能实现的愿望，强调主语的主观愿望, 指希望，愿，想，还常用于表示祝贺的句子中。hope表示希望，盼望，指有信心或有把握实现某一愿望。Hope后常跟动词不定式或宾 语从句作宾语，不能用hope sb to do sth .或接双宾语。somebody、 anybody、 nobody 与 everybodysomebody同someone,意为“某人;有人”，通常用在肯定句中！anybody 同anyone,意为“某人;有人”

28、，通常用在否定句或疑句中还可以用在肯定句中 此时表示“任何人nobody 同no one,意为“没有人，是否定词，和not anybody/anyone同义everybody同everyone,表示“人人海人;所有人”唤醒wake动词，意为“醒，唤醒”，常用于词组wake up和wakeup中。具体用法如下:(1) wake up意为“醒来”，是不及物动词词组，其后不能接表示人的名词或者代词。(2) wake sb. up意为“把某人叫醒”，是指一方把另一方叫醒或者吵醒，wake和up之间 加表示人的名词或者代词。指一指point(1)作为名词，意为“(试图表达的)观点；看法；得分；点；要点等

30、 a promise 履行诺言 break a promise 违背诺言noise, voice 和 sound 辨析noise表示让人感觉不舒服的声音，一般指噪音voice表示优美的声音，也可以表示音量。一般指人的声音sound “声音”，“响声”讲时，可以指人或动物发出的声音，或物体碰撞的声言。这个 词的使用范围很大。可以说，大自然的任何“声音”都可以用sound,该词还可以用作感 官动词，意思是“听起来”。be famous as 与 be famous forbe famous as+身份/职业，意为“作为而出名”be famous for +原因，意为“因而出名”宾语从句 放在动词后

31、面作宾语的句子，我们称为“宾语从句九宾语从句分为三类：(1) that引导的宾语从句(2) whether/if引导的宾语从句 (3)疑问词引导的宾语从句that引导的宾语从句:当谓语动词表示肯定的概念，如“希望、相信、知道、说”时，其后 面的句子一般用that引导。that没有任何含义，只有语法功能，目的是使读者清楚后面的 句子是宾语从句。多数情况下that可以省略。常接that宾语从句的谓语动词有：believe, expect, explain, feel, hear, hope, imagine, prefer, promise, report, say, see, tell, thi

32、nk, under, stand, warn, wish 等。宾语从句的时态:主句中谓语动词是一般现在时，从句中谓语动词的时态不受限制，可根 据具体情况判断时态；主句中谓语动词是一般过去时，从句中也必须要用某种过去时态, 以保持时态的前后呼应。注意当宾语从句表示的是客观真理、科学原理、自然现象、名言时，则用一般现在时，不受主句时态的限制。宾语从句的否定转移:主句是I/We think/suppose/guess/ believe等，从句中的否定习惯上 要转移到主句中，这就是否定转移。练习Lets climb up the mountain.
