2、s,an increasing number of companies across Europe are paying close attention to CorporatePower Purchase Agreements(CPPAs).These direct contracts between a producer and a consumersecure a supply of high-quality green energy for the long-term at a firm price.Every quarter,Capgemini Invent publishes it

3、s European CPPA Barometer,a comprehensive reporton the latest deals and trends,bringing more transparency to this dynamic market composed ofover-the-counter contracts.This second edition of the Barometer covers Q1 2023,during which period European energymarkets were marked by a general decrease in p

4、rices.Moreover,EU Member States introducedtemporary profit caps for energy generation,sometimes with high discrepancies across countries.Despite this,the CPPA market has never been so active.In almost all the studied countries in thisreport,65 deals were signed(versus a hundred for 2022 year),record

5、-level volumes wereannounced(+19%versus total volume cumulated by the end of 2022),and energy-intensiveofftakers finalized multiple agreements in various geographies.MethodologyIn terms of methodology:The Barometer covers the national CPPA market of 13 European countries.France is also covered in mo

7、that have been signed in this country during this particular year.It does not correspond to the volumesupplied under CPPAs during the same year.Additionally,volumes of CPPAs that have expired have not been removed.Only CPPAs that have been publicly announced are taken into account.All figures are pu

8、blic data,shared by corporations in official press releases.Insome cases,the annual volume of a CPPA has been estimated using the capacity figure(shared in the public announcement)and an estimate of thecapacity factor of the technology used in the country.Onsite PPAs(usually small-scale)and Utility

9、PPAs are not covered in this Report.Cross-border CPPA volumes are accounted for in the Offtakers country(e.g.,a CPPA signed for a Sweden-based asset to cover energy consumption inNorway is considered for Norway).Several cross-border CPPAs aim to cover consumption in multiple countries at the same ti
