1、Unit 1 知识要点How can we become good learners?Dont read word by word. Read word groups. 不要一个字一个字地读，要按意群读。【介词by】此句中介词by表示连续或反复，意为“(一个)接着(一个);(一个)又(一个)”。例如:one by one 一个接一个little by little一点一点year by year年复一年step by step一步一步They went out of the classroom one by one.他们一个接着一个走出了教室。by的用法by可以用来表示： 手段或方法：I wr

3、表示“通过；在时间内”等意思。【word group】word group表示“词组；意群”，指语言使用中表达意思相对完整的一组词语。在口语中，说话者应将其连贯说出，表达一个完整的意思。在阅读时，也应按意群读，以便更好地理解文章意思，加快阅读速度。word group的划分word group的划分主要根据以下原则： 意义完整性：一个word group应该表达一个完整的意思。 语法完整性：一个word group应该具有一定的语法完整性。 停顿性：一个word group应该是一个停顿单位。word group的例句 I like to read books. I like to read

I like to read books about history in my free time.在第一个句子中，“I like to read books”是一个word group，表达了“我喜欢读书”的意思。在第二个句子中，“books about history”是一个word group，表达了“关于历史的书籍”的意思。在第三个句子中，“about history in my free time”是一个word group，表达了“在我的空闲时间阅读关于历史的书籍”的意思。It takes time.这得慢慢来。【动词take】动词tak

13、指用来充当句子主语的从句。例如： Whether or not you can do this well depends on your learning habits. 你能否做好取决于你的学习习惯。【whether or not结构】whether or not是英语从句的一个连词结构，意思和功能均相当于whether，表示“是否”。它可以用来引导宾语从句、表语从句或主语从句。 宾语从句o I cant tell whether you are coming or not.o 我不知道你是否会来。 表语从句o The question is whether or not she will

14、come.o 问题是她是否会来。 主语从句o Whether or not you are coming is up to you.o 你是否来由你决定。Knowledge comes from questioning.知识源于质疑。【动词question】question作动词有两种意思： 质疑;质问 提问;讯问;审问question作“质疑;质问”的用法question作“质疑;质问”时，通常用来表示对某事或某人的不确定或怀疑，常与介词about、of、on等连用。例如： I questioned his decision. 我质疑他的决定。 The teacher questioned
