The sample writing is about the teachers travel experience in Beijing.Why:
3、The passage in activity 2 provides students with some language scaffolds to write their compositions. And the sample writing is served as an extra teaching material for teaching the structure.By analyzing the passage in activity 2 and the sample writing, students can learn to use diverse expressions
4、 and some transitions to express their experiences logically and clearly.By sharing their special experiences, students can feel the beauty of nature and life. Whats more, by exploring the gains of travel experiences, students can learn to enjoy the process of travelling as well as form positive att
5、itudes towards their own experiences no matter they are good or bad.How:The passage that students are going to write is a narration with basic elements of what, when, why, where, who and how. It often consists of three parts. The first part is the introduction including when, where, who, and how. Th
6、e second part is the main body about what the writer has done and his/her feelings. And the third part is the conclusion.As for its tense, it uses simple past tense and present perfect tense.In terms for vocabularies and sentence patterns, it uses diverse words (enjoy, fun, happy.) to express feelin
7、gs and the sentence patterns (I have been/seen/leamed.) for describing what the writer has done.Besides, proper transitions (however, therefore.) are used to make the writing more logical and coherent.Analysis of students:There are 27 students from Grade 8 in the class, including 12 boys and 15 girl
8、s. Students are active and the class atmosphere is harmonious. Eighth-grade students are growing up and they love to share their own thoughts because they long for being independent. Some of them may have various travel experiences and all of them have just visited the Chime-long Paradise last week,
9、 so they have a fresh memory of this travel experience.Most of the students have a good foundation in English and have certain abilities in writing. But some of them may have fear of writing passages. They have learned the listening, speaking, grammar and reading lessons of this module, so they are
10、able to use present perfect tense in the writing but they have difficulties in writing special experiences in a logical structure. They have learned some expressions of travel but they may lack of vocabularies in describing things in the theme park and some adjectives of expressing feelings. And som
11、e students are relatively weak in using diverse sentence patterns in their writing. Besides, they may have difficulties in evaluating writings, so the teacher should provide clear and operative criteria to thestudents as well as teach them how to evaluate their writings.Teaching methods:PWP model: P
